Hi Bernard,

I can only give you my experience with Milk Thistle. I read a few months

ago that it helped protect the liver from toxins, or anything that could

damage the liver's cells. I had been taking is now and then, but I started

taking it every day, along with Dandelion Root, and each monthly liver

enzyme test since then has been better, almost to normal, even before I

started my interferon. I know Milk Thistle can't cure Hep C, but if

there's any chance of it protecting the liver from harm, I'm all for it.

Take care,

Marie in Fla.

Hi everyone!

Does anyone know the dosage for the milk thistle? My doctor doesn't really

know. He said to ask the pharmacist but maybe someone here may know

better...also the dandelion root? Thanks for your help!

Scooby,

Just go to:

http://www.drweil.com

Search for hepatitis c.

He say's you should follow the directions on the bottle!

Or...take two capsules twice a day!

That's what I use! Two twice a day!

I have noticed some activity in the liver area since taking the milk

thistle for a few day's now! Kinda like some foaming/gas action going on

in the liver!

Has anyone experienced this activity while using milk thistle??

  • 7 years later...

Hi all and hope everyone is starting off this new year well. I stick

my 2 cents in all the time but I have a question for more experienced

bandsters.

First off I was 4/17/06 and have lost 62 lbs.

My band is filled w/3ccs. I have been loosing slowly and steadily and

have been having minimum problems for the last six months(last fill).

My question is: Can you be at a sweet spot for a period of time and

then it no longer works? I thought for sure I'd stay here for the rest

of my life, but I've noticed food obsessions creeping in slowly. I can

eat more and I think about it more often. Slowing down even more than

usual isn't working and am waking up hungry!. I know I need a fill but

wondering when do you stop getting fills? Do you need tweaking

forever? Just when I thought I knew how deal completely this happens!

Thanks all!!

PS: Once you get a fill does it remain exactly or does it dissipate at

all?

I'm three years out and I lost my " sweet spot " several times, meaning

I needed more fill. I believe the number one reason is fat gets

stored around the organs and probably there was some under my band

when it was placed. I've seen videos of the band surgery and it's

tough enough to place the band without trying to scrape away fat from

underneath it. I went to Bodies and saw a cross section of an obese

woman. There were fat stores everywhere packed around her organs.

Anyway, I believe as my body used up the stores under my band, it got

loser and required more fill. One time there was an air bubble in my

band and when they went to check how much fill was in there, they

found less. That only happened once, fairly early on. I've had about

seven fills, I think. About a year ago my Doc tried to take me to

2.4cc and that was too full then. But later 2.4 was fine and now, I'm

at 2.6cc.

Hope this helps.
