Guest guest
Hi Zoe, Can you say more about why the tincture of iodine is thought not to be a good choice? >Whether Tincture of Iodine is the recommended form for Iodine Painting is, however, another question. I think most would agree that something like Lugol's would be a much better choice than Tincture of Iodine. > Thanks much, Sharon
Guest guest
, The results of your experiment identify that you have insufficient tissue levels of Iodine. I'm looking for information on doing an iodine patch test. I put a silver dollar size amount of liquid iodine (the old tincture of iodine/iodide) in two places on my body and within 3 hrs or so they were both GONE. Ok..so want to read about what this might reflect, (if I did it right) but cant seem to find it and the old www.iodine4health.com that I thought Zoe was doing comes up different. Maybe I have the wrong addy? Thanks for your help. Michigan How low will we go? Check out Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates.
Guest guest
hi Jeanette I really don't know the answer but there is more info on http://www.iodine4health.com I personally think that anyone with thyroid probs---hyper/hypo---probly needs iodine as well. Gracia HI I REALLY HOPE I CAN BUMP THIS UP AGAIN!has anyone else had a sililar experience?Jeanette>> Hi I am in the UK and in the absense of a loading test I did a patch test of about 1inch sq on my inner forearm last Weds. It stayed yellow for about 24 hours and is still there as a faint brown patch a week later. I have bathed and or showered daily- could this mean I'm not deficient?> Kind Regards > Jeanette> No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition.Version: 7.1.405 / Virus Database: 268.11.7/436 - Release Date: 9/1/2006 No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
There is a lot of controversy about what (if anything) the patch test measures. So, there is no real answer to your question. On the other hand, it is quite rare for the patch to last for more than 24 hours, much less a week if the patch was made with tincture of iodine. (Is that what you used?) So, I'm curious. I wonder what you would get on an iodine loading test. The folklore is that, when a patch lasts more than 24 hours, you are not deficient. However, this belief has never been tested, and there is suggestive evidence that the patch test is not valid. It would be great to get some real evidence. It took me a while to realize what was left was only a stain and probably caused by the amount I put on. After all one of the reasons suggested for the use of Iodoral is it does not stain Abbe __________________________________________________

The stain was not brown it was really more yellowish. Abbe __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I know it is debateable whether the patch test has any validity. I have just gone up to 50mg of iodoral and had a patch test in the past that did not last longer than a few hours. I used a tincture from drugstore 2.5 % or both iodide and iodine, although this also included ethanol which would evaporate. I still think that if i tested myself every 4 weeks, if there was any validity at all to the test my patch would last longer and longer. I did not do a loading test btw. Not many people posted when asked by Zoe and about results they had with patch test. Has anyone tested themselves this way while on iodoral or lugol and seen any difference? I want to do another patchtest so i can do this experiment properly, but want to make sure i use proper stuff. Do i need iosol or can i do it with lugols, or is my tincture okay to carry on using. Thanks
