Guest guest
Hi mary If it were me, I'd just take it slow and keep doing the Lugol's because iodine is getting in that way, BUT are you sure you need iodine? Maybe you don't, and that's why you're getting hyper from it. Or, it could be that your thyroid hormone receptor cells aren't open to receive the extra thryoid hormone your thyroid makes when it gets iodine. Cortisol is needed to open those receptors, so if the adrenals are fatigued they can't make the amount of Cortisol you need. So if you have adrenal fatigue, you'd probably want to address that first before trying the Iodine again. I am hypothyroid too with adrenal fatigue. When I started taking the Iodoral last week I got nasty hyperthyroid symptoms so I tried taking 5 mg. Cortef each time that happened, and it got rid of the hyperthyroid symptoms. I guess the Iodoral caused my thyroid to output more thyroid hormone, but my thyroid hormone receptors weren't open enough - or not enough of them were open so I got hyper. And the Cortef opened them so the extra thyroid hormone could get in and then I felt much better. Also, I have started out on 12.5 dose of Iodoral, just once a day. Maybe you could try even smaller and see how that goes, if you haven't yet. --- maribob7 <rvogenberger@...> wrote: > I really want to take iodine as there is a lot of > breast cancer in my > family. Guest guest
Hi , thanks for your post. I think that's what I will do. I am taking a herbal supplement that a DOM (Doctor of Chinese Medicine) recommended for adrenal support. I am pretty sure I do need iodine because when I put quite a bit on my skin it sure doesn't last very long. In fact I put some on about 3 hours ago, and it's almost gone. And you know, maybe I'm goofy, but I swear some of my warty bumps on my legs are going away. I also have an ovarian cyst I have had for years, and who knows, maybe that will to away too. I have the cyst checked every year, so we'll see in February when I have another US. Take care. V > > > I really want to take iodine as there is a lot of > > breast cancer in my > > family.
