Hey guys, remember the Lugol's I found on Ebay? Well, the guy isn't

shipping 'til tomorrow and said if I dont' think it will work for me,

he will refund me before it ships. Here is what he said about it,

this isn't what I want/need, right?

" As far as 10%, yes it is a 10% dilution of Concentrated Lugol's

original mixture. This is actually Weigerts solution. I mix to 4.1%

Iodine and 6.3% KI. The solution is then diluted. You can have all

kinds of dilutions of this solution depending on your use. The actual

use is for staining, but in the aquarium hobby it has different uses.

Many of the uses in the hobby are even controversial, so I cannot

really recommend every practice it is used for, there is a demand for

it. The directions for using it are on the bottle. It is very strong

and many people burn out their reefs using a it at full strength. The

reason that it is diluted is to make sure that it is at a reasonable

concentration for dosing. "

Kris I wish I could advise you. Since I don't use it, I can't offer any help. Good luck.

The aquarium Iodine is weak, so the price is not nearly as good as

it first looked. Not a bad product, but certtainly not inexpensive.

I have seen Lugol's sell for $40 a quart, and that would make up 10

quarts of the aquarium Iodine, which the seller then sells for a lot

more than $4 a quart.
