Guest guest
Hi Kara-Lee, I had my band placed by NWWLS on 2/12/03 so I'm about 2 weeks or so ahead of you on the learning curve:) The same thing happened to me-my weight loss sort of plateaued and I checked my calories and was eating less than 1000. I did a couple of things that seemed to put weight loss back on the right track (1-2 pounds per week). I really concentrated on water loading. This is when you drink a lot before you eat, maybe 15 minutes to 30 minutes before a meal. The other thing was to have a " high calorie " party. This is kind of dangerous so watch to make sure you have a party-not a week's vacation. I took one day and tried to eat higher calorie versions of what I normally eat, i.e. butter on vegetables, higher calorie sauce (Bernaise) on meats, dessert. It's a trick I got from the " Body for Life (EAS) " folks. It seemed to convince my body that I really wasn't starving and then it let 3-4 pounds go all at once. Try upping your calories for a day or two and see if it helps. Shari
