Guest guest
Hi, CJ - WELCOME. That 30 # is great - but Let's see if we can give you some ideas to lose even more - but more importantly to stay safe and avoid the problems and reflux that can hurt your stomach and esophagus. First, the basics. 1. Are you religious about the new band eating that is needed? 2. Good food choices? Do you know the good band foods and those to avoid or east with extra caution? 3. PEA sized bites? This means PEA sized! 4. Thorough chewing - at least 10-15x per bite? 5. Eating slowly - putting the fork DOWN between bites? 6. avoiding fluid with meals, and all liquid calories, includung juices and protein drinks? 7. What is your calorie intake like? Tracking on a place like www.FitDay.com ? Please read the " Band Guide " you were sent automatically,, when you joined. It covers all these basics. then - how much fill at a time are you getting? Many fill docs are too aggressive with later fills, when they should be going very slowly - like in 0.2 cc increments or so. then, when someone has trouble, they take too much out many time - so people end up going back and forth between too little and too much. I'm confused though at your fill level. Do you have the 10 cc VG band or the 10 cc Realize band? both need 3.5 cc to simply fill the tubing. the very fist fill is usually about 4-5.5 cc and you barely have that. then, there is the issue of " FULL " . I don't like using the term FULL with the band, because FULL usually means " stuffed and way too much. " " Full " with the band means simply SATISFIED. We can eat more, but we are no longer HUNGRY. Then, the primarily goal of the band is simply to dim hunger between meals. It is not to make us stop eating. this means we sometimes have to SELF-limit to the 1-1.5 cup meals that are ideal. not ever more, and not less very often . Many people don't understand this, and many docs do not go over this. People think they can eat until the band makes them stop - but this is too much for safety. The reflux - please go over the " Reflux " document in the files to be sure you're following the Bandster anti-reflux rules - that docs also do not cover often, amazingly. WE should be able to avoid ALL reflux by following the rules AND by never having a too-tight fill. But good bandster eating is also essential. Please review and think about these basics, then let us know if anything sounds as if it might be the root of your problem. If not, we'll start to look at other things with you. Lastly - I see you have chosen to get no emails. I'm going to sedn this response directly to you this time, but you might want to choose Daily Digests or individual emails for awhile, so you can learn from all the Q and A's. WE all lesrn as much from other people's questions as from our own. Many have similar problems.
