Guest guest
Hi Adele, Breast feeding can deplete both iron and magnesium stores. Anaemia can cause problems using Armour which could lead to the joint pains but so could magnesium deficiency, have you noticed any other symptoms? I think if it were me I'd probably get my ferritin checked and consider taking magnesium suppliments, perhaps your GP would have you checked for both? Guest guest
Hi Adele It could be several things: 1) You are not getting the right amount of either T4 or T3 in your Armour. 2)You may need to use T3 only and don't need the other hormone that are in Armour. 3) You have candida albicans so unable to absorb the thyroid hormones. 4) You have low adrenal reserve and need to sort those out because this also causes your body to not absorb thyroid hormone replacement. 5) You have low stored iron (ferritin) 6) You need to take supplements such as Selenium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E etc. 7) Might not be any of these things - cheery, aren't I ? You might need to go through a process of elimination. I would start by getting a full thyroid function test so we can see whether it is your dosage of thyroid hormone that is wrong. You could also get your adrenals checked out to see where your cortisol and DHEA lie at four specific times during the day (with the stress recently, this could be the problem). You might take a glass tumbler filled with water up to bed tonight to see if you have candida. Work up some spit when you first wake up and spit it into the top of the water. If you have Candida, you will see long threads going down from your spit towards the bottom of the glass. Think that's enough to start with, but you definitely need to be changing something in your treatment regime Adele. How is baby? Luv - Sheila hiya just popped in to rack your brains..... I am taking 3 grains of Armour a day but have recently started experiencing very painful ankle joints and am beginning to notice that i can't stand for long periods....it's been worsening over the last 4-5 weeks....not good when you have a small babe and other children that need looking after......The armour is the only supplement i am taking as i am breast feeding at present....any advice as to what i should do????thaks in advance of any adviceAdele No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Hi Adele, Sounds like you may have a conversion problem and there may be too much T4 in the Armour for you to cope with. Zinc and selenium are both needed to convert T4 to T3. I'm not sure if these supplements are recommended when breast feeding, so you'll have to do some research on this. There is a simple test to tell if you're short on zinc. Get zinc gluconate from Holland and Barrett or similar. Suck one of the pills. If you only taste chalky then you are low in zinc if you taste it after a few seconds then borderline, but if you immediately go 'yeuch!' then all is well. If you need zinc and then do this again after taking it for a month or so you'll see what I mean by yeuch, it really tastes strong and sharp. The other route is to replace a grain or so of the Armour with T3 and see how that goes, but just to confuse you it may be that you actually need some more T4 instead- the same symptoms can be caused by the opposite need! Isn't thyroid wonderful!!! I am taking 3 grains of Armour a day but have recently started experiencing very painful ankle joints and am beginning to notice that i can't stand for long periods....it's been worsening over the last 4-5 weeks....not good when you have a small babe and other children that need looking after...... The armour is the only supplement i am taking as i am breast feeding at present....any advice as to what i should do???? thaks in advance of any advice Adele Messages are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Guest guest
> will start the nutri adrenal extra again......is this ok with > breastfeeding? I *think* so. I would take them while nursing. But here's something you might need to know: you know they turn your wee bright fluorescent almost green? Well they turn your breastmilk bright fluorescent almost green too. Freaky if you're not expecting it. > Baby is lovely weighing in at 16+ lbs and in size 6-9 month clothes > although they are a tadge big on him...he's oly 14 weeks!!!!! but > he is a joy and was worth the heartbreak we went through to get > him..... jpgs please!
