It's a good test but only if your doctor knows what to make of it. That's what I meant by " burn out " .
Guest guest
Hello - My doctor treated my adrenal burnout with a year of therapy on raw adrenal supplements and 10 mg/day of hydrocortisone. After a year of this my adrenals have tested normal. Good luck - Jennie Floyd --- Holt <cathholt@...> wrote: > My doctor treats adrenal burnout with adrenal > glandulars, ginseng, 1500 mg > pantethenic acid (vitamin B5), and an herbal product > called Adrene Plus. > The Adrene Plus contains licorice, so I couldn't > take it, and I couldn't > take the ginseng either (endometriosis). Guest guest
Hi Jennie, I've been wondering if boosting my adrenals with a program like yours would make a difference for me. Would you tell me what symptoms changed for you and to what degree, now that your adrenals are testing in the normal range? Have you felt a big difference? Thanks, Sandy Jennie Floyd wrote: > > Hello - > > My doctor treated my adrenal burnout with a year of > therapy on raw adrenal supplements and 10 mg/day of > hydrocortisone. Guest guest
Hi Sandy - Before I took the adrenals, one of my worst symptoms was severe lower back pain (right over my kidneys where the adrenals are located). This disappeared almost as soon as I started the Cortef, and it hasn't come back. Also, my energy level was terrible before - I was almost bed-ridden. I'm still not able to work, but my energy is much better these days. Finally, I have mitral valve prolapse and the palpitations were pretty bad before - now I almost never have them. I do other things for my conditions but I think the year on Cortef and the raw adrenals really helped. Good luck - Jennie --- Sandy Olson <sanols@...> wrote: > Hi Jennie, > > I've been wondering if boosting my adrenals with a > program like yours > would make a difference for me. Guest guest
Hi , Dr. Cheney reported that CFS patients have little or no growth hormone. Hypothalamus injury has to be repaired with Fetal Bovine Growth Factor as Steve Bullock is doing from our list. I would think that is related to the Adrenal burnout situation. Guest guest
, An occassional use of hydrocortisone (very low dose 5 mg/day or less) during a period of severe adrenal burnout will reduce the stress on your adrenals. Don't use more than 2-3 days in a row and try not to use more than once a month. Regular use will suppress your cortisol levels in direct proportion to your dose so you will gain nothing in the long run and could potentially do harm. Guest guest
I have the same thing. Dr Cheney tested me and said I was extremely adrenally deficient. He said it appeared almost ian but He believes that its in the bran and when I begin HGH it will help all the other hormonal insufficiencies which were extensive. He thought the receptor sites were blocked because of HGH deficiency. As soon as I am able I will attempt to take some quotes about this issue from my Cheney visit. I'm just too sick yet to get it together. Klonopin helps me during the day with the zombie, burnout, overload sensation. L >has anyone had this and found a good remedy? Guest guest
Hello , Go to www.chronicfatigue.org. Dr. Poesnecker has been treating folks with adrenal " burnout " /exhaustion for 40+ years. has been on his program for 1 1/2 years and has made significant progress. There is plenty of research done to indicate HPA axis problems. His work and theory are not far fetched. It is worth looking into. Adrenal trouble could be " the " underlying problem or a symptom of a bigger problem. Do your homework. Mark and > has anyone had this and found a good remedy? My adrenal burnout is still > severe. Guest guest
It was interesting, thanks! I'm always fascinated by how doctors describe adrenal burnout since I have that problem. I found it pretty accurate but this doctor like most doesn't really acknowledge how varied the symptoms can be, especially over time. For example, at my worst my blood pressure was sky high, not low like he says. Also, and it seems like this is a fine point that many people miss, the adrenal gland does not tend to slowly burn out like a fire running out of fuel. In my case and I've heard I am not alone, my adrenal glands put out so many catecholamines that I spent months being tested for an adrenal tumor. So it can seem more like the adrenal gland is working well (or too well), when in reality it is a terrible sign. Adrenal burnout can be very much like the finale of a fireworks show - with very high output of cortisol and everything else. I know others on this list have also mentioned that high cortisol is a sign of adrenal stress. I think it is a really important point - if I had know at the time I would have recognized my symptoms as being from adrenal burnout and found more competent health care help! > > > > > I belong to educate-yourself forum and thought this was worth reading. > > http://educate-yourself.org/cn/adrenalburnout19apr05.shtml > > > Pat. Guest guest
Hi Sharflin: Wow,I never realized that adrenal burnout could also cause high BP,my BP has always been 60-61 on the low end. I just finished reading about " Breakthroughs for Adrenals & Thyroid " on this site, IMO,had some interesting info. www.wellatlast.com/articles.html ..Pat >Sharflin wrote: It was interesting, thanks! Guest guest
Hi Pat, > Wow,I never realized that adrenal burnout could also cause high BP,my BP > has always been 60-61 on the low end. Yes, I think it is a stage thing. My BP dropped when my adrenals were completely exhausted, but while they were in that 'fireworks finale' stage my BP was sky high. I think the whole progression of adrenal burnout is not well acknowledged by writers/doctors. It is really not a static problem with one set of symptoms. > I just finished reading about " Breakthroughs for Adrenals & Thyroid " on > this site, IMO,had some interesting info. > www.wellatlast.com/articles.html ..Pat Thanks for the interesting links!
