I did have a high TSH once on iodine but it was basically as Flechas said. The TSH went up then came back down after awhile. I generally feel fabulous on this dose...not a sign of hypo EXCEPT this constipation issue. And it doesn't feel like sluggish digestion as my hypo state. More like the bowels get frozen.I can't decide if the iodine simply has killed off the gut bacteria of the colon. The iodine docs keep saying no but I can't imagine what else this is. ANd it's odd that not everyone experiences it.> Random thought - I also wonder what high Iodoral does> to SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin), growth hormone,> or any of the neurotransmitters, if anything.> That may influence constipation as well> if SHBG went higher and/or growth hormone went lower.> --------> Now that's an idea. I continue to wonder what's going on with estrogen. Flechas said it does shut down estrogen receptors but also makes them more receptive to estrogen..... says it converts estradiol into estroil. I don't think they really know what it's doing.Do you have more information on constipation and SHBG? I should go get that one tested.ThanksLynn
