Guest guest
I'm 34 and am recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and doc started me off with 50mg a day of Levoxyl. Anyhow, I've been on it for near 3 weeks and I noticed a big change in my hair, but I still am very tired and all, but the thing that has upset me most is the weight gain. When I went to the doc I couldn't believe I had gained 15 pounds...which shocked me cause I haven't been eating any more, if anything LESS than usual, and you know what he told me when I stated how shocked I was that I had gained so much? He said flatly, " you gain weight cause you eat too much " . I was dumbfounded. Then he added, " but hypothy. will make it stick easier to you. " I wanted to smack him, but I waited so long to get an appt. with him and he's supposed to be really good...anyway, I digress! I am really depressed about the weight gain and I KNOW it's related to my condition, and so I'm wondering if, when I get the right dose of Levoxyl going, I'll lose this weight? I'm really bothered by it and I exercise and everything, but can't lose any of it! I'm ready to cry here.. So far I've been on Levoxyl for 3 weeks, so I know it's early and maybe it's not enough for me, but I won't know for a while. In the meantime, I need support and any advice you'd like to give me! I feel tired and fat! Thanks for letting me vent... Rhonda
