Guest guest
THere is NO ONE RIGHT NUMBER, either in calories or in goal weight. Almost all of us set unrealistic goals. 165 is probably a bit goofy for him. Why isn't he on here himself? Don't take this wrong, but are you trying to control him and his eating? If so, that's guaranteed to be counterproductive. IF he wants to email to a guy who's been successful, he can sure email me or call me. For me, at 5-10, a BMI of 25 is 173, so if he's six feet and 165, that's a bmi of 22, which is towards the low end of normal. And way low if he has lots of muscle and bone. But ... we're all different. If you eat 1400 you'll lose faster than if you eat 1800. That's 400 a day, or 3500 in nine days, so on average you'll lose about 3 pounds a month faster than at 1800, all other things being equal. But either way you'll lose, just depends on how fast. Of course one of the things we need to try to learn is to NOT get hung up on ANY numbers, either weight or calories, but to learn gradually to " be normal " and just live by eating the right things.
