So, to be capable of applying the scientific method to chemistry or biology

one must believe in evolution?

I guess some of the scientific branches today take that approach. After all

in medicine, if you want an alternative method accepted, anecdotal evidence

isn't acceptable, it's not how the patient feels but the blood levels that

matter, and you need a large double blind study. On the other hand, if

you're on the establishment side you just need faith. There's no need to

prove your case.

One example of that is whether or not one should get antibiotics before they

go to the dentist if they have certain heart conditions, because it might

prevent endocardits. If you do a search, you'll find since the answer is

already suspected, it would be unconscionable to do a study that compates

the death rate of taking antibiotics before dental appointments in that

class of pateint vs. the death rate from endocarditis. One or two

physicians say there should be a study, because they recognize that most

doctors don't consider the death rate from antibiotics when they suggest

taking them, but no one will do it because when the answer is known before

hand making a patient suffer is " unconscionable. " (The issue is the same

with vaccines. They're not about to do a long term safety study that

compares the health of a large number of NEVER vaccinated children to those

that are. It would go against the religous belief that the medical

profession has in vaccines.)

It's amazing how scientists can know the results of certain studies that

have never been done.

Hypothyroidism is another area where many patients get better on thyroid

meds if they have a lot of thyroid symtpoms, but the establishment that

attacked Dr. Derry in Canada kept saying it didn't matter if the

patients kept saying, " his treatment gave me my life back " all that mattered

was the levels of TSH and thyroid hormone in the blood.

When my trigylcerides were 400+ and my doctor was more concerned about that

then my real problems, I read Atkins book and told her I was going to use

that to lower my triglycerides, she put her head down on her desk in dismay.

After all, for years they have said cholesterol is the mortal enemy, and

you shouldn't be eating it because the more you eat the higher your levels.

Conveniently they have pills which can lower cholesterol, yet don't increase

life span. Atkins said that his diet lowers cholesterol and triglycerides,

my cholesterol was already too low, but six weeks later my trigycerides were

down to 112. Atkins was right!

Yet, scientists want us to believe by faith in them that they know all there

is to know about cholesterol. And many other things, including evolution.

Not all scientists accept the theory of evolution as fact, as I recall there

is a Creation Research Institute that tries to refute the given account of

evolution because it is full of holes. Even if it's not, then you move back

to the Big Bang and what caused it, and some creationists will tell you

that's the Biblical creation, time is different at the origin of the bang,

so the energy used to create it might have taken seven days while the world

and universe expanded and changed through the power of creation to what it

is now. Seven days at the fulcrum point of origin, would have been

thousands of years as the energy for creation moved away from the fulcrum.

Which is a theory that extolls creation without ruling out evolution.

If one isn't permitted their religous belief, this science of yours is quite

narrow minded. As such science is today, since it's mainly profit driven.

Just look at the scandals at the FDA and how many people drugs have killed

in spite of all the clinical trials. Look at the safety of GMO foods (oh,

those have never been tested, " scientists " and the FDA tell us they're

safe), or the food pyramid. Don't see much of the scientific method, only

profiteering and conflict of interest.

Iodine, like many other natural substances that can't be patented, is far

cheaper than the alternatives, so many scientists who are in it for profit,

don't want us to find out the usefullness of iodine, which was well known to

DC Jarvis and many others.

" Medical knowledge " of today's medical profession involves a lot of faith,

and not much else in many areas. It's almost an absurd 20% of our economy,

and if they found cheaper and easier natural solutions that are out there,

there would be a huge downward trend in our economy, wouldn't there? Many

people who profit from creating new products which can be patented would be

out of work. I guess you can give a child the latest expensive drug for an

ear infection, or a couple drops of hydrogen peroxide. The former is far

better for the medical economy, isn't it? Give a patient who has cancer

chemotherapy or prevent it with Lugol's Solution. One certainly is

detrimental to the income of the medical community isn't it? No wonder Dr.

Derry was suspended by the Medical College of British Columbia after

writing the book " Breast Cancer and Iodine. " They knew what he was doing

with thyroid treatment for years, but then he had to get vocal and publish

something to the Internet about the fallacy of using TSH to treat

hypothyroidism, and publish that book about breast cancer. If people

believed what was on the web and in that book, and it was true, there

certainly would be a recession in medicine.
