Guest guest
I have a question or two about adrenal insufficiency. I'm hypothyroid and taking 180mg Armour daily. Also taking 8 drops of Lugol's daily since Sept 15th of this year. I have a hunch that I may have adrenal insufficiency. I started wondering about if after reading various posts here. I do have a couple of symptoms which may be considered adrenal I think: I startle very easily and have difficulty going to sleep until atleast 11:00pm or later (even though I'd like to get to sleep earlier and I'm tired). I just received a new shipment of thyroid, and in the package was a notice that included the following statement: " Thyroid hormone may increase symptoms of ....adrenal insufficiency. " Isn't this interesting? Now I'm wondering what type of adrenal testing is really valid. Saliva testing? Or is testing even necessary...couldn't I start with a small amount and see how I feel? Does anyone have experience with this? Also, isn't there a trade-off in taking Isocort and other adrenal hormones? Does one need to be careful in avoiding dependency? I have a lot to learn about this. Will anyone recommend a good book on the topic? Thanks for your help, Deanna
