Guest guest
If you have the same restriction as before, I'll bet you're fine. I've had stomach flu since banding with no big problems. Other than the stomach flu of course. Monday, October 25, 2004, 8:03:04 AM, you wrote: rmoc> I feel fine. I still have the same level of restriction as rmoc> previously. Guest guest
The well-healed band is really quite secure. I had pneumonia at about 4 months out, and for an entire month was coughing deeply and barfing from the coughing. i have never been so sick in my life, and was sure i was going to see the band laying on the floor after one of the bad coughing episodes. (kidding, of course - this can't happen). The band was fine. I personally believe that allowing the band to heal very securely in the first 6 weeks by not eating solids too early is a VERY big factor. Also using an extremely experienced doc who gets the band placement and sutures exactly right is a key. Inamed states that, until a doc has done more than 100 bands, the rate of slippage and other problems is a lot higher. If your restriction is unchanged and you're having no rpoblems, your band is surely okay. Guest guest
Food poisoning symptoms can start within an hour of eating bad food. It's usually very hard to tell food poisoning from viruses, unless they did a stool culture. doesn't really matter most of the time, though, since the treatment is the same - rest, fluids, and time! Occasionally, antibiotics are required for bad bacteria found in the stool culture. http://www.texmed.org/has/pin/ghh/svp.asp http://www.oklahomapoison.org/prevention/foodpoison.asp Sandy RN > > and/or stomach flu/gastrointestinal infection QUESTION! > > It came on very suddenly (so they told me food poisoning is probably > not it) and I had non-stop runs and dry heaving/vomiting. > Concerned & Worried! > Rina > Toronto, Dr. Joffe, Feb.2003 > 330/
