Guest guest
I found it very prudent to have a band doctor/resource in every " port " when I visit and work regularly. I have two home basis: North CA and South CA. Every time I visit for even a few days, find out who the band resources are in the area. Also if you have any insurance at all, any emergency treatment that would need a flouro should be covered if the doctor need to check it. Traveling is my worse time because I don't think, am preoccupied with the people/places I'm at, etc For convenience I chose wrong foods, or no good Bandster foods are available. Try flying internationally on a plane for over 20 hours!! Be SO careful what you eat. I even on this last trip had band resources in AU and NZ. The fastest way for me to get any local resources for where I'm going is to post a question on the Obesity Help Board for the State/County I'm going to. Boy, everybody sends you their favorite. I boot up the web page, chose a couple, and call them as soon I'm in town for the first time. All I've called are very gracious to call back. I tell them who I am and ask them if I could see them in an emergency. I send them a brief description am, my original doctor, etc. Most set up a little chart for me over the phone that is available in case I have to come it. I've never used it any place but North or South CA. I told my plastic surgeon that having the band is like always being pregnant We are always on alert to care for it and to notice changes. But this is for life. Keep me in your heart this Thurs. I'm having my 3rd and last plastics and chose the Holiday Season because my family/friends will be off. For all of you, especially Dan and Sandy, have a great time - and on to more adventures with our Band in 2008!!
