Guest guest
hi Lidia, i have not been on board for a while. i had a complication with my tummy tuck. it got infected and i wound up in the hospital for 6 days. had more surgery by a local plastic surgeon and have an infectious desease doc looking after my infection. i'm home now, but with a picc line, i am infusing myself with IV antibiotics twice a day as well as tending to the packing and dressing of my wound. not fun. however, the face lift is in good shape and i lost weight in hospital. but life came to a grinding halt. my son is coming down from canada tonite to help me for a few days and then on wednesday, my ex-wife is coming for 12 days to look after me, schlep me to doctor appointments, shop etc. if i had it to do over, i would not go so far away for plastic surgery without a clear plan for post op care in my own city. i went into the surgery with a high degree of naivete and came home with a list of things that should be done, but without even having a primary care physician. if it weren't for my fill doc here, who knows what would have happened. meanwhile, I'm on the mend. i'm waiting on tenter hooks for sandy to return. i have had some advice from a doctor in the hospital who wants to be my primary, for preventive heart and stroke therapy and need to discuss it with her. hope everyone else is doing well. george > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > Bored stiff? Guest guest
I'm here!! Just had my second PS. An abdominoplasty with several hernia repairs on June 7. There hernias were serious, they were not sure at the beginning whether they could have finished the PS. Stanford NOW has an official Band Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Lorenz was very proud of himself. He found the port and MOVED it. (the first surgery was my panni, and he avoided going high enough to interfere with the Port)Everybody told him it was surgery 101, but he was a little cautious. He moved it two inches to the left to fix hernias and stitch muscles. Am home after 2 days. Excellent care. My Plastic Surgeon does most of his work on deformed kids. He is so bashful, but I was tickled when he wanted to be with me right after I woke up. He just said " I did it " !! He had the chief of surgeons at Stanford do the hernia repairs. I guess most Plastic Surgeons do not do that if they are serious, and mine were pretty complex. They worked together. I was so grateful!! WHAT a BAND journey this is!!?? Guest guest
and Barb, so sorry to hear about your complications, but glad to know that you are both on the mend. Sounds like I'll be asking advice from both of you before I attempt my own PS. It will be a while since I'm not losing anymore and can't seem to make a dent in the last 50 lbs. Continue to get the care you need to be back to your best. Carol > > I'm here!! Just had my second PS. An abdominoplasty with several hernia > repairs on June 7. Guest guest
Dan, I think you are right. It is that time of year. I was just getting a little lonely whenever I checked to see how everyone was doing. Speaking of outside, I started my fist ever vegetable garden this year. It is so great. Therepeutic and exciting. I have no idea what I'm doing, but things look like they just might grow. My dad decided to help my sisters and I each get started with a garden. He will be 70 this year, had heart surgery last year and seems to be " catching up " with time that he didn't spend with us in the past. Its really nice to be learning something new and I'm so excited that I'm able to bend over now in order to plant things and weed. 100 lbs ago I was lucky to be able to pick a toy up off the floor. Hope everyone is having fun. Carol > > > > > > > > > > > >--------------------------------- > >Bored stiff?
