Guest guest
Hi, I am currently taking Adrenal, Organic Glandulars from Allergy research Group, hoping to help my low energy but am just wondering if I am doing the right thing and if it would raise my cortisol levels which some on the list say is a big problem. Tried their Adrenal Cortex but had a really wired feeling. I feel sure I have what they call " adrenal burnout " The whole gland which I am now taking says that the medulla is the inner portion of the adrenal gland and contains epinephrine and norepinephrine, is this bad? The information says that the cows are raised in New Zealand and range fed and gov. inspected so hope they are safe from Mad Cow disease. Thanks, H. Guest guest
, It depends if you are in overdrive: with insomnia, and other surpressed parasympathetic functions: digestion and constipation. I am in sympathetic overdrive and have never benefited from glandular supplements or eating the fresh glands. I benefitted for a time from pregnenalone and might have utilized adrenals then, but don't need either now. I use Seriphos to sleep, it helps a little. The most helpful thing is neuro cranial restructuring that takes presssure of the glands in the brain. I also eat raw butter and eggs because the cholesterol and other nutrients build adrenal horomones and do many other things. If you have questions you can look up these things on the web first and contact me if you run into snags, I don't have much time to write. Guest guest
, I am also taking adrenal support therapy and I know that adjusting the dosages is very difficult.Dosages and supplements used may vary according to the level of illness you are in. What works for you now may change within two months time and you may need and adjustment. If you can not do the correct adjustment in time you have a chance of getting worse.Sorry to say that!May be you don't need adrenal cortex extract at this point of your illness or may be you need it but you may also need to use Seriphos to control excess cortisol secretion. If your cortisol levels are high at some times of the day and low at the other times than you need much more careful monitoring of Seriphos and ACE dosages.Monitoring the dosages and supplements are very difficult if you are adjusting them yourself. I think you need to take ASI test and get advise of an experienced therapist. Glandulars are used by many people and I personally thought that it was safe to use. " | right thing and if it would raise my cortisol levels which some on the list | say is a big problem. " I would like to know more about this! I must have missed this. Who said that? Guest guest
, What do you mean by " I am in sympathetic overdrive " ?Is this the overstimulation we have? Than what is the relationship of it with taking glandulars or what type of adverse symptoms you experience when you take glandulars. Thanks.. Guest guest
, I took Adreset by Metagenics recommended by doctor. This is an " Adaptogen " which will not give you a wire/burnout feeling. I've had good results with it. If your not sure about your cortisol levels are then I think this would be a safer choice to try. " Adreset features standardized extracts of Asian ginseng root (Panax ginseng), rhodiola root (rhodiola rosea), and cordyceps mycelium (Cordyceps sinensis) - highly valued adaptogens that support a healthy, balanced response to stress. Adaptogens are biological substances found in certain plants and herbs that help the body adapt to stressors of various kinds, whether physical exertion, trauma, sleep deprivation, or psychological stress. The adaptogens featured in Adreset are traditionally used to provide overall stress protection, increased energy, more restful sleep, and enhanced mental clarity and perception. Guest guest
Hi I went to my CFS doctor (he follows cheney's protocol) today. And he did some kinsealogy testing for my adrenal glands and said that my adrenal is very burnt out. He recommended the same product you mentioned here " adreset " by metagenics. I am going to start taking it from today. My main symptoms are extreme weakness, fatigue and brain fog. I dont have flu like symptoms (i had it for several years on and off and then it stopped last year and I am not bothered by it now) Hopefully I will get good results too like you. I took cortisol am test and it always comes back in teh normal range. Thanks Gayathri --- natposte <jazz62@...> wrote: > , > > I took Adreset by Metagenics recommended by doctor. > This is an " Adaptogen " which will not give you a > wire/burnout feeling. > I've had good results with it. > > If your not sure about your cortisol levels are then > I think this > would be a safer choice to try. > > > " Adreset features standardized extracts of Asian > ginseng root (Panax > ginseng), rhodiola root (rhodiola rosea), and > cordyceps mycelium > (Cordyceps sinensis) - highly valued adaptogens that > support a > healthy, balanced response to stress. Guest guest
My doctor follows Dr.Cheney's protocol too. My symtoms are mainly wired/tired feeling. weakness and too fatigued to fall asleep. Although adreset alone doesn't *cure* my inability to fall asleep it helps relieve this freight train like feeling going thru my head. I've never had a cortisol test done but I'm sure it would come back normal too. Good luck with the Adreset! Guest guest
Nat, May I ask you what approximately your level of functioning is?I will compare my level of illness with yours and try to figure out if this may work for me or not?I am extremely exhausted, almost bed-ridden. I have previously tried siberian ginseng but it did not work for me.It normalised my adrenal functioning in the morning but I was extremelty exhausted in the afternoon.Thanks.. Guest guest
Nil, I'm not bedridden anymore but this is not due to any treatment that I've tried, I got gradually *better* over the course of 10yrs by doing nothing. I want to make that clear. I was able to run 6km/1xweek for the last 5 yrs but since my sleep problem I'm no longer able to do this. Plus I had a Transfer Factor episode 2 yrs ago that set me back and gave new symptoms. My main problem now is fatigue and weakness in my legs, but this could be worse at this time because of low ferritin levels. I've had to deal with this tired/wired feeling since I lost the ability to fall asleep last November. I'm not feeling psychological more stressed than usual but I feel irritated all the time, so something hormonal must be going on. My doc'd rec Adreset because it's an adaptogen that supports an appropriate and healthy response to stress by promoting BALANCED hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis function. I feel worse in the morning but better by evening, but I do get rest during the day.' I'm still unable to work. Hope this is not too confusing. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have several questions for those of you who are on adrenal support. Did you start taking the adrenal support before or after you went on thyroid medication, and if before, how long did you have to wait to begin the thyroid? Also, did any of you find that you were able to tolerate T3 after starting adrenal support, that you weren't able to take before? Thanks, Cheryl
