No there is nothing about going hyper. He added a chapter on Selenium, Apoptosis and Cancer and Autoimmunity and Iodine. There is nothing about being hyper / goiter state.

iodine and multinodular goiter

In the new edition of Iodine, has Dr. B addressed iodine causing some people to go hyper, especially those with a multinodular goiter?

I know the connection is recognized by Flechas, because he recommends everyone get an ultrasound, before starting iodine.

Thanks!

Hi, Dr. B did order an ultrsound for me at my initial appointment with him. I'm not sure if he advocates this in his book, but I guess I assumed that he probably ordered ultrasounds for all of his iodine patients. Not absolutely sure on that one. Maybe will be able to tell us this .. ? GloOlif <OVanPelt@...> wrote: In the new edition of Iodine, has Dr. B addressed iodine causing

I believe Flechas writes about "going hyper". maybe it is on http://www.optimox.com

what I read there is that it is a passing phase. Iodine is the treatment for hyper.

this is why I think the dose is so important too. Some peeps think they are hyper on a dose lower than 50mg.

Thanks to everyone who replied!

Pat on HHN just pointed out something to me. I should look further into my progesterone levels. The last time it was tested, while on iodine, it was elevated. Maybe that is the reason for these symptoms from iodine and maybe it isn't thyroid related after all...
