As Evan Almighty would say.....Mm..Mm...MmMmMm! ;) I went to Giant for some

salad (turkey, eggs, cheese, peas, beans, and a tiny bit of romaine w/ LITE

HVR dressing). YUM! 8 oz filled me up!

We've got them here in land, but I have never been. I hear they are

great, but some things are better priced at Trader Joe's. I just would like

to go to look around. Shopping is an adventure anymore! Produce and

cheese's are my favorites at TJs.

I made pulled pork with my own lil hands on Monday -- it's not only

yummy but pretty easy to eat.

Diane,

i have sampled the pulled pork and brisket at whole foods and cannot

tolerate either. i find the strands of meat difficult to masticate

properly.

however, they have a lobster bisque that is wonderful. only i've

just started getting it since i reached my goal.

i get my liquid flax seed oil at whole foods. 1 tablespoon per day.

wow, sorry george. but i suspect that the " northern " version may be

different than the southern one?

since i am not at my goal (although frankly, i am not sure what that

is right now) i try to stay away from their

creamed soups...i love their clam chowder.

but their yogurt/dill/cucumber cold summer soup is low cal and

delish. as is their shrimp gazpacho.

i have been getting flax seed there too...and also get it in the flax

seed cereal i have a few times a week for breakfast.

there really are a lot of delicious and nutritious foods there.

This is such a funny coincidence. I just made pulled pork for the

first time. They had pork sholder roast on sale for $1.98/lb the

other day so I bought a small one. I used a bbq spice rub I already

had (dry) mixed with about 1/4 cup brown sugar. I rubbed the roast

down, put it in the crock and put the crock in the refrigerator for

two days. Then I put it in the cooker on low for 2 hours and then on

high for 2 hours and finally on low for another for 4 hour or so. It

probably could have gone on high the whole time, but I wasn't sure

the crock could take the heat right out of the frige. Once it was

done I put the meat on a plate and poured the juices into a fat

separator. Once it cooled enough to handle, I took out the bone and

fat and other connective tissue. I mixed some of the meat (well

pulled with forks) with some of the pork stock and commercial bbq

sauce. The 5lb roast made about 10 full servings, so some went into

the freezer for later.
