I'm same way in morning. Other than this week when working graveyards (and that ends in about three hours) I'm normally up at 0500 every day. It is rare for me to try to eat anything solid before about noon. Earlier I have coffee (which does a good job at dissolving my morning pills) and lots of water. Some times I'll have a 200 calorie protein drink (10 grams of protein), but not regularly. If it is a morning that I'm going out for a run, I'll usually have a protein drink, and will take gatorade with me. > been overfilled once before and do not want to go through that again. Same here. And it cost me about 1500 dollars to get the unfill, as had to fly to Mexico, etc, etc. Learned my lesson on that one. And it was indeed a case of thinking I was smarter than the doc who did the fill. He did it under fluoro and said it was too tight. No, I was too " smart " and said it was fine. I've also never been a big sweeets eater, and have never liked butter or hard candy or anything like that. Chocolate is ok, but never have done a lot of that. Can you fill my tired brain in on what the snacks are that you mean? I'm familiar with the term in general but don't know what it means to you. For me it would be cheese, olives, things that are high fat and calorie. And of course it just is NOT FAIR that we're tight in the morning when ideally we'd have our biggest meal to get us going, and not tight in the evening when we're HALT (horny, angry, lonely, tired) (or variations on those...but you get the idea). That part sounds like you see him as " the inspector of your eating " or something like that. Is that part of it? Is he critical of your weight? If so, that's one of those things that can be difficult. For a year or so I had a girlfriend who tried to " control me " and every bite I ate. Finally I realized all I was doing was fighting her about it (and much was passive/aggressive like eating in secret, when not with her, etc). That was one of several reasons it ended. She was trying to " fix me " and " make me a better person " . Fortunately Gail and I both want each other to be at a healthy weight, but ONLY so we'll be the healthiest we can be, and we'll live happily as long as possible. If there is an issue with your husband about your weight, I hope you two can talk about it so that you won't be ashamed (or criticized by him) if you have an occasional snack, or don't lose quite as quickly as some people. How long has it been since he's seen you? Guest guest Posted December 20, 2007 Report Share Posted December 20, 2007 Dan, Yes snacks for me are savoury biscuits full of salt and fat, cheeze, salami etc. My husband Dave works on a drill rig in the mining industry. He drills the holes for the explosives to go into. He does have an issue with my weight. Prior to meeting him, I had just ended an awful 8 year abusive relationship and lost all of my weight to find a new man. He kind of figures I tricked him. I know I looked good back then but within 1 year had stacked a lot back on. We've been married 7 years now and after 2 children and many illnesses the worst being rheumatoid arthritis diagnosed 3 years ago, he's ready to trade me in. I say it as a joke but sometimes I look at what he's being landed with and wonder what he might think. He is supportive generally but I've failed at weight loss so many times he thinks it's just another one of my adventures. When I am down to goal weight he is a very jealous person and part of me thinks that he may actually benefit from me being overweight. I could go into a lot more in detail but just thought I'd give you a general idea. Yes it is a shame you can't make it to the West. I think it's the best part of Australia but I'm biased.
