No reason he can't be now, too. You may want to join BandsterWorkout

for more info on this. I used to lift at 355, and still lift at 210

or so. Sure, I don't have as much muscle, but it is coming back. Yes,

the heavyweight lifters can lift more....but so what? Guys and gals

still win Olympic gold medals in other weight classes, too. NO, I'll

probably never do 900 pound leg presses again....but my legs are not

carrying around 355 either.

You keep muscle mass by USING it. If he isn't lifting and doing other

strength building stuff, he will lose it. And he'll lose some anyway.

Use it or lose it, as the saying goes. And what he's lost, he can

gain much of it back, glutamine or not. Hell, there are dozens of

nice high priced supplements that serious lifters get into....but who

the hell needs it unless you're competing for Mr. Strongman of the

County or something...and I'm not convinced THEY need it either. Get

your protein and get in and USE the muscles. That goes for all ages,

genders, conditions, weights, etc.

Yup, lift some weight. That'll help. It won't get rid of the

batwings, but it will put more muscle there which will look better.

c3> Any help or knowledge on this.. would be a welcome

I'll always have batwings, but there'll be ever more muscle there, and

the remaining flab I can live with. But mine are not as bad as some,

and that partly seems to be more of a female thing, in general.

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but batwings are loose skin,

and exercise will not reduce them at all. Exercise affects and

improves only muscles, joints, and the cardio system.

The skin stretches very easily to accomodate weight gain, but I'm

afrid that once it is badly stretched out, nothing but plastic

surgery will get rid of the skin. that is why most of us with big

lossses have some ps to remove some of the leftover skin.

With weight loss, you only lose muscle mass if you are not exercising

and are not taking in the protein you need. This is why enough

protein and exercsie is so critical!! EVERY ONE of us should be in a

reasonable exercise program to prevent this! It's YOUR choice - you

can lose weight without exercsie, but you will pay the price of a

great amount of damage for it.

Do a web search to find out how useless these type of supplements are

for the average person. It might be different for VERY serious weight-

builders, but none of us is in that category! Sandy R
