I think I was in a celebratory mood. That's a good reason. Just curiousity on my part. And know too many people who continually " test the waters " ...and I've done that in the past. My best example was early on I knew I couldn't eat bread...I'd tried it. But....in my great brilliance and insight, I decided that " biscuits ain't bread, biscuits is biscuits " so they shouldn't be a problem. So I got a mcdonalds sausage biscuit, which before banding I'd two or three of on my way to work EVERY morning. I've never been so stuck. Biscuits of course are much gummier, and after a quarter of the biscuit was stuck beyond belief. Wouldn't come up, wouldn't go down. For over four hours at work I walked, jumped up and down, etc, etc, in between working on computer things....and it just hurt like holy hell. Finally after 4 to 5 hours it passed. Maybe I was in a celebratory mood? Naahhhh...just stupid. > I've been banded and stayed on track for 3 months, have lost 34#, and > figured if it was an unusual splurge, why not. Oh, no argument with that. Part of what we try to learn is " to eat like a normal person " . > Fish - I was never a fish eater before and it was never cooked in my > home growing up. I make my tartar sauce with fat free sour cream with a little pickle relish and some capers in it. Almost no calories. Of course they also make light miracle whip, too. And we all like our tartar sauce different. Glad you've found a good way to do it. I also like shrimp (buy in big bags, frozen, from costco). You have to be very careful on bite size and chewing, but might be worth checking out. Having some of them in a little container in my office fridge often gives me a low calorie, high protein, snack. They have a little 'shrimp sauce' on them made of catsup with some tabasco mixed in. > Next time I'll take my own popcorn. ( Sounds good. Besides, it'll save you the ripoff price they charge there. I've also sneaked in my own bottles of water instead of paying three bucks or more for one of theirs. -- Best regards, Dan mailto:honu@...
