Guest guest
Hi, they also invented a Prozac in pink and purple for PMS syndrome and I think came out with an extended release version. XR is one way to keep the patent current Re: omega 3 cymbalt and prozac actually are 2 different classes of drugs..prozac is an SSRI while cymbalta is an SSNRI (2 neurotransmitters are being regulated instead of 1).. the milnacpran that someone set an article about is also an SSNRI... though lilly did repackage prozac into a companion animal drug for seperation anxiety through ELANCO... liz dixie1340 <missmagnolia2007webtv (DOT) net> wrote: Thanks for a couple of you responding aobut omega 3. I tried it and it gave me more energy but I was so "drug sick". I went on the net and researched it and it is the new Prozac put out by Lilly Co. They said Prozac was very expensive when it first came out and there was no generic form. But then a generic came out and Lilly started losing money . so they tweeked Prozac and called it Cymbalta. It sells with out insurance for $149.00 for a 30 day supply. Back making money again!!!! BUT if it helps some people that is good. But most people with fibro I have talked with ( and me) are very sensitive to any kind of meds and have to take a really low dose if they do take anything. Guest guest
Okay thank you Helen! I take 3, 1000/mg day. I just read an article where they think people with fibro loose more gray matter in their brain than other people and the article suggested 4,000 or more of Fish Oil a Day. I have not quite upped it to that because can you get too much fish oil? I am not a fish eater (icky icky icky) in ANY way so I am quite content to take the pills. I also take 200 mg 5 HTP (seratonin), but the omega helps the most. It just stops the mood swings and severe depression. I am much more on an even keel. I take the SISU brand salmon oil (blue bottle from Norway) and I take 6 grams a day. Now I need to find something for the anxiety. It can get pretty severe. I take green tea (theanine), but that doesn't do too much. Would like to take kava kava, but they made it illegal. Does anyone know a good remedy for anxiety that is not a prescription? I'm going to get some counselling for the anxiety, trying to learn ways or behaviour modification to deal with it. Thing is, every day is different. Sometimes I just wake up terrifically anxious. So, I started doing some research today about Omega 3's and Fibromyalgia, and was thrilled to find out that it really helps some people with pain... it wasn't in my head. Guest guest
well, i don't know. I take Salmon oil and on the bottle it says that it includes Omega 3 fatty acids (so I guess they are different.) There's also vitamin E added. The Salmon has 130mg EPA and 70mg DHA per each gel capsule, which I guess are the Omega 3 fatty acids. Why does it have to be so complicated? Guest guest
Omega 3 is also found in flax seed. The seed must be ground in order to get the benefit, or it will pass through pretty much undigested. I add it to cereal in the mornings. Hodgson Mills makes a reliable brand that is reasonably priced at Wal-Mart. Guest guest
Don't know the name of the any flavored omegas but do make your patient aware of Lovaza....Big Pharma's latest: synthetic omega 3's...................use natural ones! We get plenty of omega 3s and 6s, it is usually the 9s (nuts) that seem to be most missing.
