Seriously, they all taste pretty darn good. Except the Spectrum. I kind of

like the centrifuge-Indian version, it has less contaminants, but the

differences are not huge.

Heidi-

Well, I found Coconut Oil Supreme to taste a lot nicer than Tropical

Traditions, maybe because of the lack of fermentation. I think COS is

centrifuged Indian oil, so I was wondering how the oil that Radiant Life

carries compares.

www.tropicaltraditions.com has some great information on the benefits of

coconut oil.

Subject: Re: gallstones

I was told to use virgin centrifuged coconut oil for everything, including

cooking, by Annette, she said it would be very helpful in ridding the body

from parasites and would help remove bad cholesterol. It has been

recommended as THE oil to help lose weight. She also believes that VCCO is

excellent for cooking at high temperatures. I do take lecithin.

BTW, my cholesterol is normal.

I sure would love to see the dialog between you & Annette, to shed light in

our discussions. I respect both of your opinions, Dave, which is of course

confusing me. It would be great to see a definite agreement or some clarity

on this very confusing subject. Again I am a novice and ready to learn.

What about grape seed oil?

oil. It is the superior high heat oil. Unequaled. The anti microbial and

other health

benefits again, fantastic. However, I would not be a proponent on using it for

" everything " . We need a broad spectrum of oils. Since it is saturated it is a

" heavier " ,

" thicker " oil. It is more stabilizing (binding) in the presence of certain

proteins, which

could give it more of a propensity to form masses than say a mono unsaturate. I

am

definitely not recommending the elimination of coconut oil from your diet just

the

reduction from the main fat. Adding thin viscosity cold pressed oils such as

apricot

kernel, walnut, etc. for use in non cooked dishes (like salads) or applied to

dishes after the

cooking process might be helpful. Fish or krill oil supplementally if you are

not vegan on

moral grounds. -Dave
