They also have .5 cup containers so I may pack a couple of those. I'm home all day..... but I'm struggling mightily to make right choices. I almost never do. Guest guest
OK, let this fall in the " entertainment " category if you find it as dumb or duh (obvious) as I see it to be now. I was frustrated to be putting the pounds back on when I started on puree/soft. I KNOW I'm not expected to lose weight before a good fill, but it sure is nice to lose it anyway. So I am paying more attention to my water, getting in more exercise than I'm accustomed to (but not NEARLY enough yet). But the thing that has just kick-started my weightloss again, is the simplest thing... I bought these Rubbermaid food containers that say on the label that they are 1.1 cup in volume. I pack my lunch in that. To tell the honest truth, I have backup nutrition - either more food in another 1.1 cup container, or else " emergency " very low calorie, sugar free protein powder to get me through a rough spot. But just by eating from the 1.1 cup container, I get the psychological satisfaction that I've " cleaned my plate " and most days I don't need more at lunch time. The backup food is handy because I have after-work activities more days than not, and so around 5-6pm before I leave work, I have that for my dinner. It's too late when I get home around 9-10pm. The only problem with this system is that eating lunch around noon and dinner around 5-6pm, I am a bit hungry around 9-10pm. Last night I just went to bed a bit hungry. I do look forward to my first fill (TODAY!) so that after a bandster portion, I am satiated. But for now, not having unlimited quantities on a plate and not having to CHOOSE to stop eating is helping me a lot. The band can help me physically to know when to stop eating. But the small container helps me visually/mentally know when to stop. I think it's helping me get used to a bandster portion even before a good fill. I TOLD you it would be the dumbest most obvious thing in the world. I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes. Thought I'd post this for my fellow ban-DUH-sters. a, 33 y.o., 5'6'', -21.9 lbs in 5.9 weeks highest 250 - size 22/24, surgery 227 - size 20, current 205.1 - size 18, goal: wherever I stabilize Banded 8/26/04 - Dr. Rumbaut, Monterrey Mexico Follow-up: Dr. Fox, Surgical Weight Loss Clinic, Tacoma WA First fill scheduled for Oct 6 2004
Guest guest
Excellent problem-solving!! Also, no reason not to have a small snack at 8 pm so you don't get so hungry. A bit of string cheese or yogurt, maybe, that will go through fairly quickly - Sandy R > I bought these Rubbermaid food containers that say on the label that > they are 1.1 cup in volume. Guest guest
Its smart advice. I do it all the time. Before I was banded, I went out and bought 2, 1/2 cup volume bowls. these are now my eating bowls, tea cup saucers are my plates and I use large baby food jars equaling 1/2 cup to take food for lunch. Psychologically, it feels like I'm eating a lot... especially if I go and get seconds. Well, seconds, only means I'm eating a full cup and I normally only eat one bowl. It beats the tiny glob of food sitting on a huge plate image. That could be depressing. otter > I bought these Rubbermaid food containers that say on the label that > they are 1.1 cup in volume.
