Guest guest
Hi, I've searched the files and not finding an answer or help in my question. I vaguely remember (grey moment..lol) a message a while back talking about the relationship of thyroid meds and Iodoral. My doc has increased my Armor to 90mg/day from 60mg/day. I've been on 50 mg/day of Iodoral now for a little over 2mths. Will the increase of meds decrease the benefits of Iodoral? Or, is this a sign that my body is adjusting to the benefits of Iodoral? Would greatly appreciate any insight to this as I want to stay on Iodoral (neck size shrunk after starting Iodoral). Thank you and have a great holiday Kathleen
Guest guest
why thank you. because i still disagree. as you correctly point out, dr. lowe's folks are on an unique T3 only protocol (ordinarily for fibro)...not untreated or on a combo. I actually haven't read anything about their usual Free T4 levels...just their high Free T3 levels. do you have a link? i'd be interested. tis true Free T4 is lower in relation to Free T3 on Armour...that wasn't the question. So I am still saying that someone untreated or on Armour with a Free T4 of .7 is still hypo. it's fine for you to disagree too. cindi > > > You can disagree. If you are on a large enough dose to suppress TSH, you will not produce any T4. So, if you're not taking any T4, you will have none. T4 is not necessary for anything except for turning into T3. At least for some people. I haven't figured out yet whether those who say they need T4 at particular levels really need T4 that high, or only because they need a certain amount to turn into T3, and that's really the benefit of a certain level of T4. .....just their high Free T3 levels. do you have a link? i'd >be interested. > >tis true Free T4 is lower in relation to Free T3 on Armour...that >wasn't the question. So I am still saying that someone untreated or >on Armour with a Free T4 of .7 is still hypo. That's only true if T3 is irrelevant. If T3 is adequate, I contend one is not hypothyroid regardless of their T4 level.
