This is the same herb known in Ayurveda as bhumy amalaki. It is a fantastic

liver gallbladder herb. It is not only hepatic protective and detoxifying but

is also helpful in the regeneration of hepatic tissue. Their prices are

exorbitant. Should run you about 15 cents per cap for " 00 " (they do not say

what size caps they are using which usually means they are using " 0 " , much less

herb). At $3.50 an ounce for a 1:1 extract you are paying about the equivalent

to $55 per pound. They are selling on it's effectiveness and reputation. -Dave

Subject: Anyone ever used this herb?

I just came across this and wanted to see if anyone here had ever used

it or had any experience with it. The herb is called Chanca Piedra and

this particular product is made by Whole World Botanicals. Here's a

link:

It looks good, but I wanted to ask some others' opinions first.

Thanks! Oh, and I'm not affiliated with the company, just can't afford

to spend money on stuff that might not work!

Chanca Piedra is more associated with kidney s tones..than gallstones, from my

previous research.

There does not seem to be one particular herb or even food substance that is

known to definately dissolve both types of gallstones...cholesterol, and the

calcified ones.

If I am wrong do let me know!

thanks

Gall stones are believed to be cause by a weak liver. If the liver function

improves there wont be any stone formation.GB is only a storage sack for the

bile produced by the liver.Poor quality bile leads to stones.

Hence, most medicines in Ayurveda(including Chanca Piedra) will try to improve

liver function in order to tackle GB problems.
