Allergic Reactions to iodine

Recently I finally found a doctor who was willing to put me on thryoid medication. He was going to use Iodine (Lugol's) and Nature-Throid. He was the first one to tell me why the tests come back normal when I have all the signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism, along with Cushing's Disease. His explanation had to do with the periodic table and the nearness of fluorine to iodine, and the inability of the tests to tell the difference. I told him I was very allergic to iodine. I have MCS and react to many things. He said I probably wasn't, and he tested me in his office by putting a drop of Lugol's on my arm. My tongue and throat began to swell, and he had to stop my reaction. He used an electronic device that I had never seen before. It was like a high tech NAET treatment, two round metal balls on the ends of a U that straddled your

spine. The reaction was scary and exhausting. He wanted me to return to his office in two days to have the iodine tested again to see if the NAET treatment had "cured" it. I was not able to do that because his office is two hours one way, and I did not have a ride. I have been housebound because of illness for two years and have to hire drivers through a home health agency. Is there some form of iodine that might be safe that anybody knows about? Josie

Dear Josie

I would suggest that you look for one the nascent

iodine products on the internet. Nascent iodine is

used in much smaller amounts, each drop being 0.2 mg

of iodine. Being in the nascent state, seems to make

it very active in the body and many can feel it in the

thyroid within minutes of taking even though they are

using only 5 drops in a glass of water, on an empty

stomach, that is 1 mg of iodine.

It is used more often during the day because it is

only active for 2 to 3 hours in this nascnet state and

after that itis like anyother iodine in the body. But

during that time it seems to be active in lot of ways.

Just check nascent iodine products and there will

be several on the internet. hire
