Hi,  I have just been taking Lugol's for the past 2-3 weeks. 2-3 drops per day. I plan to do the iodine loading test as soon as I can get it sent to Canada. Earlier I took just one drop of Lugol's off and on and felt hyper on it and thought it affected my sleep. I decided that it is so important that I had to really try to get past these difficulties. The higher dose seems better for some reason and has not affected sleep. Or perhaps I am over the initial detoxing reaction? I understand that it is recommended to increase Vit C while on iodine. I have been taking Vit C in the form of ascorbic acid and really do not tolerate it well. I tried to increase it because of a bout of bronchitis that I picked up on an overseas flight. I had tremendous acidity problems with the increased vit C.I'd really appreciate knowing what type to take. What brand even. Thanks for your help.AnnPS: I also have been putting Lugol's on a scar from a surgery for an early stage melanoma. It causes itching. A good sign?On 28-Nov-06, at 9:59 AM, jtb14789 wrote:I found switching to time-released worked for me. I had been using my regular 500mg tablets - 2tablests 3 x day. Sometimes I would feel a little intestinal upset. The time-released ones have smoothed it out. I take iron, which can constipate (my ferritin is low). I also supplement magnesium & the C. The 3 balance each other out just right. Everything is moving smoothly, so to speak ;). > In regards to me getting my Vitamin C supplemented to the 3000mgs that he wants me to be at .. he is sending me a timed released tablet that he feels I should be able to tolerate a lot better. > > He is also sending me additional selenium to take, since there is not enough in my multi. > > ~Glo>
