Guest guest
Over night has changed the way our reminders are formatted. In order to not receive the spam that comes along with signing up for our email you will have to get a ID and follow some simple directions for resetting your marketing preferences. Once you get a ID you can do this. I will put the directions for this at the bottom of this email. To do this you will have to get a ID. This will also help you when we have members bouncing. Many of these members do not have User IDs. We urge each one of you to obtain a User ID so that you can easily see if you are bouncing and also take the necessary steps to unbounce yourself. This is NOT the same as obtaining a mailing address. You DO NOT have to have a mailing address to have a User ID, but that is an option you can choose. If you have a friend who is not receiving their list mail, please pass this info on to him or her. (The term " bouncing " means that your list mail from is being returned to as undeliverable. This can be because your box is full, because of spam filters, or because of technical changes made by your Internet Service Provider.) Obtaining a User Id is very easy. Go to http://www. or http:// to register. Once on that page, click on " Click Here to Register " which appears under New Users. will walk you through the process step by step. You will need to come up with a " handle. " Have several in mind since their are thousands of users and your first choice will probably be taken. Once you have a User ID, go to http://privacy. and click on Marketing Preferences. Check NO to everything on that page and then click Save Changes at the bottom of the page. Go back to http://privacy. and scroll down the text until you see the link for Web Beacons. Click on that and scroll down the text until you see the words Opt Out. Click on that to opt out of the Web Beacons program. Once you have a User ID, you can go to myprefs to see if you have any bouncing addresses linked to your ID. If you do, this page will give you directions on how to reset your subscription so that you can receive your mail again. Another great feature about having a User ID is that you can reset all your subscriptions to all your groups at the same time when leaving on vacation. You can go to mygroups , click on Email Preferences, click on Edit my Groups and then with two clicks set all your groups to No Mail. This is a great timesaver when you are rushing to leave for a trip. Having a User ID gives you access to the calendar at , access to the group files, photos, and also allows you to vote in our polls. Have questions? has a very detailed help section. If you have any questions about obtaining and using your ID, go to http://www. or http:// and click on HELP in the upper right corner. It will take you to this page, http://help./help/groups and you will be able to search for answers to your questions. Please use this service BEFORE contacting the moderators.
