Guest guest
I know a bandster that used to bring her own wheel chair, and she has lost enough weight she no longer brings it, so you willnot be alone! You come and enjoy yourself, and make some new friends! Can hardly wait to meet you! you are on the right track, welcome! kinda anxious hey everyone, im looking forward to meeting everybody at the bash but im feeling a little anxious about it because im so large and most of you will be so slim...i know you understand where im coming from having been there yourselves which is great, but im hoping that i can find a friend or two to kinda help me out or whatever... im damn near disabled at this point...everytime i stand up to go somewhere, im looking for that well built, armless chair to sit down on again and soon... which sux cuz i wanna dance, but i sweat like crazy, i wanna sing karoke, never done that before but have a great voice for it, but to stand up in front of a crowd and sing, i just cant do it...my self confidence has taken a major leap forward this year (thanks to my God=dad) but im still in the handicap zone which makes me feel inferior to everyone else, especially a bunch of skinny people...i just gotta get this band and lose all that weight...300lbs or so... so anyway, i just needed to share that and it will be really cool to connect with use guys... peaceout, stanman Seattle Bandster Splash and Bash! http://barbooch2.homestead.com/SeattleBandsterSplash.html To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to:mailto:unsubscribe
Guest guest
Stanman, don't worry about being the only large person there, we bandsters come in ALL sizes. Not just the skinny ones show up at these things. It's great to come " before " or early in the banding process, because then next year we'll get to " oooh and ahhh " over how much you've shrunk. Check out the photos area in our groups section. I have a before and now photo of me, and the before was taken at my first bandster event. I'm wearing a tiara and it says " Bandster Wannabe " . Guest guest
First, you may not necessarily be the biggest one there. Of course it is not a competition. And the thin, or less fat, people will have been where you are, if not in exact number of pounds, in the same place mentally. We'll be able to show you saggy flabby skin, or skin that looks good becuase it has been tucked. And nothing wrong with sweating. Exercise produces sweat and that's a good thing. And as you lose you'll be able to exercise more. I don't think you'll ever find a more loving and accepting group than you will at the bash. I went there last year at almost a hundred pounds more than I am now, and I was certainly accepted. And I wasn't the biggest person there, but I know those folks were loved and accepted too. hugs to you and yours, dan Monday, December 15, 2003, 11:49:56 PM, you wrote: t> hey everyone, t> im looking forward to meeting everybody at the bash but im feeling a t> little anxious about it because im so large and most of you will be t> so slim...i know you understand where im coming from having been t> there yourselves which is great, but im hoping that i can find a t> friend or two to kinda help me out or whatever... Guest guest
thestanmanis: You're not the only one that is not slim. I was banded in July and I've lost less than 20 pounds. Uh huh happens sometimes. There will also be pre bandsters, bandsters of every weight, size shape and description. I'm a wuss, too, but I'm still trying to find a way to get there. Guest guest
Hi Stan, Uh…I’m not slim by any means…(give me another year and a half,, though!) :-) But I’ll be there. And I’ll be dancing too if there’s dancing. It’ll be fun. Don’t let that hold you back. We’re all friends there..no judging. No caring what people look like. Just having fun and getting to know our fellow bandsters! Guest guest
What are you afraid of? Don't worry, we won't eat you, and large is acceptable, you will be in good company! > hey everyone, > im looking forward to meeting everybody at the bash but im feeling a > little anxious about it because im so large and most of you will be > so slim...i know you understand where im coming from having been > there yourselves which is great, but im hoping that i can find a > friend or two to kinda help me out or whatever... > > im damn near disabled at this point...everytime i stand up to go > somewhere, im looking for that well built, armless chair to sit down > on again and soon... > > which sux cuz i wanna dance, but i sweat like crazy, i wanna sing > karoke, never done that before but have a great voice for it, but to > stand up in front of a crowd and sing, i just cant do it...my self > confidence has taken a major leap forward this year (thanks to my > God=dad) but im still in the handicap zone which makes me feel > inferior to everyone else, especially a bunch of skinny people...i > just gotta get this band and lose all that weight...300lbs or so... > > so anyway, i just needed to share that and it will be really cool to > connect with use guys... > peaceout, > stanman
Guest guest
Stanman - i'm not sure where you get the idea that we are all skinny. Not true. Sure I've lost 70 pounds but i still weigh 320. I can't stand very long nor walk very far as yet but i'm a lot better off than I was 70 pounds ago. We are all in this together and will be happy to assist you on Bash Day. I have not been to the bash before but this is the place where you can go swimming, sing, dance and not feel a bit embarrassed. gayle in seattle 5/1/03 390/320/299 > //im damn near disabled at this point...everytime i stand up to go > somewhere, im looking for that well built, armless chair to sit down on again and soon...// >
