What should I absolutely Avoid

I know I have stones. I have known since last year. I had an

abdominal ultrasound done. I seem to be having flare ups of

symptoms. So are there any hard and fast rules I should follow? What

can I change or avoid right now that is going to make a significant

noticible difference in the way I feel. I also have high blood

pressure, if that makes any difference in anyone's suggestion about

diet or lifestyle changes I need to make right now. So, what should I

avoid, and what should I be doing?

Thanks,

I too have a combination of symptoms that you have (gallstones for 5 years and

hypertension) and have been living relatively pain free from the gallstones.

Here are some considerations -- I've been informed that gallstones can become

infected; they can cause cancer of the gallbladder, which could spread quickly.

Watch the type of fats you consume; use the right omega fats; use a very good

digestive enzyme plus papaya and pineapple with your meals; use Lecithin

granules. Generally high fat foods could cause flare ups.

I am now considering removing my gallbladder surgically. My last ultra sound

showed my gall bladder to be quite distended with these stones, so I ask myself,

if it is not functioning why am I keeping it?? I am following the cleanses and

will continue to do so till I make a final decision.

Hope this helps.

My Short list of foods to avoid (some research, some common sense) ---

Deep fried foods

Caffeinne

Carbonated beverages

Processed foods & sugars

Alcohol

Red meat

Good Foods (sorry it took me so long on this )

* = Especially good

Beet

Radish *

Kale

Parsley

Lemon

Orange

Pear *

Apples *

Dandelion (use in juicing or tea)

Legumes

Chamomile (Tea)

Plus there are some other supplements/herbs like Flax Oil, curcuma and

milk thistle that have been credited with promoting good GB health.

Some of the pro-liver/GB diets will ask you to avoid all meat, I

choose to avoid red but I eat chicken & turkey. I typically will make

fresh juice 2-3 times/day with 2 apples, 1 pear, 2 radish, 1/4 lemon,

1/4 beet, 2 stalks kale, 2-3 dandelion leaves, several parsely stalks

and a slice of ginger for taste. You can also add a couple of carrots

for taste too.

Please feel free to add to this list or to challenge it. It's a big

world and there's plenty of opinion for all of us to share.

Steve,

Thanks for putting that list together. I also notice that when I follow a diet

of fresh vegetable juices and avoid the things on your list, my health is

better.

Thanks again,
