Hypothyroid pts don't do much with beta carotene supps, we've been thru that before on this group, search archives. Metagenics has a very bad tasting, very intense, strong, potent, water soluable Vit A in a dropper bottle. This is what I'd use if someone had a very serious med problem. Twinlabs makes a dry Vit A called " Allergy A " and " Allergy A and D " . And there are fish oil derived Vit A, which can be alternated with the Twinlabs dry A, to cover the bases. It's an open question for me how much beta carotene from foods hypoT pts absorb and are able to utilize, but I know that I feel much better eating lots of raw COLORFUL veg in the warm weather months, and steamed in cold weather months. There are probably *various uses* for the carotenes in foods, antioxidation and such, so are excellent on general principles, JOY of nature's bounty!
