Guest guest
I think I take a hybrid approach. I use olive oil, but try not to use mayonnaise at all --I consider it a treat -- and I only use it when I make tuna/egg salad which is once a month in the summer. I try not to eat too many diet foods --- but I do use stevia or splenda in ice tea etc. I love Fruit 2O water. I do not consider skim or 1% fat milk a diet food -- nor low fat cottage cheese or yogurt! I do not get sugar free cookies, but every once and while I will have a regular cookie--usually on a weekend, which is when I am in a treat mood. So I compromise. Full ice cream is also a treat every once and a while, but I do keep sugar free fudgesicles in my freezer. I cannot hold myself up as a pinnacle of success, but since my last fill, and with this approach I have been feeling good and clothes are getting loose. I only weigh myself when I go to the Doctors -- since I am diabetic (but not on meds! with normal a1c now) I go 2-3 times a year. So I will find out in a few weeks how it is going. I am going back for checkup to Duke shortly too. Diane B
