I only use fishoil and multi-vit. Has someone a brilliant idea ? Thans in advance. Simon ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Simon, I was stiff before starting LDN. I have gotten stiffer regardless of the doseage. I don't think LDN is the cause. I believe for some, stiffness is inevitable. Marcie

Guest guest
> What do you mean by a filler? > ============ A filler in a capsule is like lactose or acidophilus. The amount of LDN in your capsule doesn't come anywhere near filling up the capsule to capacity. When you take a capsule you don't want the capsule to collapse, it might cause choking so the filler keeps the capsule from collapsing when swallowed. LDN needs to release fast so a fast releasing filler must be used.
Guest guest
Several years ago, a friend (who does not have MS) told me that he had leg cramps at night until he started drinking 8 ounces of Gatorade every day. I had trouble accepting it, but I finally decided to try it on a regular basis a few months ago. It works! I ran out of it a couple of weeks ago and my cramps came back. After two days back on Gatorade, the cramps stopped. I am on 4.5 mg LDN. I know it has potassium as do many supplements, but it also has some electrolytes. It might be just the right combination. It works for me and it is pretty cheap. Go figure. > In a message dated 5/10/2005 9:22:13 AM Central Daylight Time, > simoncohen_2@h... writes: > > > > > > Hi group, > > > > to be short: > > 6 months I had great results with ldn 4.5 mg. > > Then I got stiffness. Guest guest
, thanks for explaining what a filler is, but I have another question. I was taking 4.5mg from Irmats with a lactose filler. This didn't suit me, so on Dr Bihari's advise I am now attempting to take 3.5mg by guess work from the 4.5mg. At the moment we are opening the 4.5mg capsule and trying to guess how much is 3.5mg, then with this on a spoon I am swallowing it with a drink. How do I know I'm not just getting a mouthful of the filler and is this OK to just swallow it like this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Diane > > What do you mean by a filler? > > > ============ > > A filler in a capsule is like lactose or acidophilus. Have Irmat prepare you 3.5mg capsules and if you are allergic to lactose ask Irmat to use acidophilus.
Guest guest
Simon, I started LDN Sept. 2004, and had a similar experience at about 6 months. I had been on 3.0 for 1 month and then went to 4.5. I did have a bit of trouble being stiff after a few months, and experimented by going back to 3.0 for a few days, and then alternated 3.0 one day and 4.5 another. This really didn't do much so I stayed at 4.5 and after a while, the stiffness did get better. I do a few quick, simple physical therapy exercises that were given to me, including stretching, and that helps too. I too, am exsperiencing small symptoms now, new ones--I have toyed with going back to using Copaxone as well as LDN, (I was on copaxone for 1 year before stopping that and going to LDN,) but I have decided it is my increasingly sloppy diet that is causing these. The extremely low-animal fat, high fruit and vegetable diet such as the Dr. Swank diet is really hepful if you have MS. LDN won't do everything! LDN is so simple and so cheap (I get mine a\from Skip's in Florida) that I'd be crazy to stop it when it has given me extra energy, better mental functioning, better balance and though I had a few minor side effects at first, they have all gone away. I'd be nuts to stop or skip a dose unless I had to for surgery or something like that. Daphne > On this moment I have a relapse. I dont't know what > to do. It's pretty much what I thought and when I call on Friday I'll ask for 3.5mg in capsule form. Thanks again. Diane
Guest guest
Hi Daphne, thank you for telling me your story. It helps me a lot. I already had decided to take 4.5 mg., without a break. Your words confirmed me. I was very " glad " to read your story: " I am not the only one " , I am still hopefull things will work out. Also another ldn-user said that it seemed that 4.5 mg stopped the progression and 3.0 mg. didn't. I have taken 3 days 4.5 mg., shall continue, and hope that I " ll (within another 7 days or so) feel some positive things happening (like in the beginning of my ldn-taking, in august 2004). Those first 5-6 monhts were great. Without stiffness, without any side-effects. Sorry for my English, but I think you will understand me. Thanks again.
