Guest guest
I wrote to Maine Coast Sea Vegetables (http://www.seaveg.com/aboutus.html) to find out more about bromine in seaweed. I just received this thoughtful reply. Zoe Dear Zoe, Thank you for inquiry. We have not tested for bromine in our sea vegetables, and I couldn't find anything in the USDA National Nutrient Database either. I did a Google search and found references to brown algae being high in bromine, but no specific amounts. So I am afraid that I cannot give you an answer to your question. I will pass on your request to our company president, so that the next time he has nutritional analyses done on our sea vegetables he will consider testing for bromine. Until then, if I come across any information on bromine/iodine levels in sea vegetables, I will pass it on to you. Yours in Health,Rae UrbanMCSVrae@... Bromine in Seaweed I have heard that there is more bromine in seaweed than iodine. Do you know if this is true? Do you know where I can get information on bromine/iodine levels in seaweed? Thanks, Zoe
