Guest guest
My son is the same way, Steph. He is very Jekyll/Hyde in his behavior. When he first wakes up, he is jsut the sweetest kid, gentle and kind. Then suddenly something will snap, and he's chasing the cats, tormenting the dog, beating his sister, or doing something purposely he knows he's not supposed to do (like beat a stick against the walls or something outrageous). He has a hair trigger and a wicked temper, and is prone to boughts of screaming and lashing out. I have had him on the DHA oils, but he is really not good about atking them regularly. He's very funny about things, they have to be just right. His clothes, etc., have to be just the way he wants them or he won't wear them. I have tons of brand new clothes he refuses to wear. He also has had dry skin/eczema, and has those little "chicken skin" sorta things his whole life. When he was a baby, he would only havea BM ever 2 or 3 days, despite being fully breastfed until he was over 2 years old. His diet sucks, he will basically eat chicken and peanut butter. I try to get vitamins in him ,but sometimes he just refuses to take them. I've been buying the V8 fruit/vegetable juice to get some veggies in him. BTW, my son is completely unvaccinated, and has never had a pharmaceutical cross his lips. He has been treated with homeopathy only. I am certain that if he had been vaccinated, he would be autistic. I, however, am Rh- so had 2 RhoGam shots (before and after the birth of my daughter), so he may have gotten some mercury there. I refused the shots with my son, and only had one after he was delivered. My son was quite short fused and had a hard time keeping his temper. I started giving him Nordic Naturals Kids DHA Oils and he has settled down a ton. My ND saw him and commented on how much better he was doing and told me to up my dosing to 4 capsules from 2 and he did do even better. Their brains love the oils. I put flax oil in thier "shakes" at night too. B.My Ebay Auctions: http://tinyurl.com/o9nqvMY SOY CANDLE STORE IS OPEN! Guest guest
>From: " Ives " <mives@...> > >My son is the same way, Steph. He is very Jekyll/Hyde in his behavior. Hypothyroidism can cause this. >I have had him on the DHA oils, but he is really not good about atking them >regularly. You expect him to take them on his own? Very few children would. > He also has had dry skin/eczema, and has those little " chicken skin " >sorta things his whole life. When he was a baby, he would only havea BM >ever 2 or 3 days, despite being fully breastfed until he was over 2 years >old. How's the iodine sufficiency of your area? I'm pretty sure he's low thyroid, which could be due to low iodine. Iodine as DC Jarvis pointed out can also calm children down. He'd put a drop of Lugol's in orange juice, and see them calm down. Anyways, the eczema, chicken skin, BM only every 2 or 3 days all imply hypothyroidism. It can also greatly affect the appetite. Have you ever had them test TSH, T4, T3 and antibodies? >His diet sucks, he will basically eat chicken and peanut butter. I try to >get vitamins in him ,but sometimes he just refuses to take them. I've been >buying the V8 fruit/vegetable juice to get some veggies in him. Last time I looked at V8, it had high fructose corn syrup in it. >BTW, my son is completely unvaccinated, and has never had a pharmaceutical >cross his lips. He has been treated with homeopathy only. It comes from all over the country, and out of the country, so the iodine in my local soil doesn't mean jack. > Have you ever had them test TSH, T4, T3 and antibodies? My son? No, he has not been tested, as I mentioned in another post, getting blood from him will be, well, like getting blood. He freaks at the sight of blood, and melts down when he gets a scrape. He cries when I have blood taken. My daughter and myself, yes, we have had those tests done, we are both low T4, T4, high TSH and no antibodies. We are both being treated with Armour. > Last time I looked at V8, it had high fructose corn syrup in it. Not this one. Its a new one, V8-something its called. There is no high fructose corn syrup, it is only vegetables and fruit. > That's good, but being unvaccinated doesn't mean he's not hypothyroid. No, it does not. And I'm not arguing that he is not. As a matter of fact, the reason I posted is becuase I think he is, and I would like to try treating it nutritionally first. However, unvaccinated means that he most likely is not mercury toxic. Guest guest
, > However, unvaccinated means that he most > likely is not mercury toxic. Not necessarily... I heard a dentist from PA lecture this year on mercury toxicity. He said that if the mother is toxic, the fetus will suck up a lot of heavy metals in the womb incuding mercury. I can try and find his name if anyone wants it. Best wishes, Sharon

Stores do usually carry in-season local produce, and some people go to farmer's markets. In your case, it may not matter. Anways, not all of New England would be deficient would it? Part of it is actually on the ocean.> > However, unvaccinated means that he most >likely is not mercury toxic. Unless you eat a lot of seafood, or live near a coal fired power plant. Also, as you said, you live in New England - http://dep.state.ct.us/whatshap/Press/1998/mercury.htm " Connecticut has a great need for reduction and eventual elimination of mercury emissions in the state, " said Arthur J. Rocque, Jr., Commissioner. " The need for the action plan in the northeast is supported by recent documented evidence of elevated levels of mercury in freshwater fish across the Northeast United States and Canada. Guest guest
That is a known fact - Hal Huggins, Mark Breiner, Hardy - they all say this. It passes through the placenta. I am wondering about my kids. I talked to the Homeopathy guy at my Dr's office today about my son not staying dry and he told me it may be nickel. You get it from your silverware unless it is all silver. UGH!!!! He said it leaches off of all metals. Some bodies don't know how to get rid of it. Guest guest
Really? My son still has some nightime wetting accidents (3 this past week, and he still sleeps in bed with us -- yuck!) I planned on taking him to the chiro. this week, as that helped my daughter. Guest guest
I am going to try the Chiro more often for him. We had him tested for infections and gave him Curbita and Cantharsis - no luck. My ND says it may be a B6/B12 deficiency so we are trying that too.
