Guest guest
The biggest issue with kelp is that is tends to be toxic in arsenic. Why not just buy ACV in California when you get there.. It should be very easy to find. They are quite up on natural therapies there. Trader Joes are everywhere. Steph 1st post (lurker)...question about kelp >I have Hashi's and adrenal issues. Trader Joes are everywhere.<< I am going with a group of high schoolers and their advisers to a journalism conference and will be mostly relegated to the hotel and Disneyland/California Adventure (across the street from the hotel)...and I am not sure how easy it will be to be able to find a Trader Joe's (or similar) within walking distance of our hotel. I am guessing that you advise that this supplement, and kelp in general, isn't the greatest idea. Am I right? I guess I just thought I was being proactive buying the ACV in cap form so I could keep up with my regimen...should've looked more closely at the list of ingredients before I ordered it, I guess. Darn.
Guest guest
>Hi , The boils you mentioned sound very painful. Have you tried taking extra zinc to help with these? I know you didn't ask for advice about the boils in particular, but I wanted to mention this in case it helps. When my 3 daughters were growing up they took a good quality multi along with extra zinc and it really helped keep their skin clear. I've also passed this along to other moms and they have reported back positive results. Deb > I have Hashi's and adrenal issues. Guest guest
Hi Deb, >>The boils you mentioned sound very painful. Have you tried taking extra zinc to help with these? I know you didn't ask for advice about the boils in particular, but I wanted to mention this in case it helps.<< Thanks for mentioning this. Yes, they are very painful AND very unsightly!! I just started a spread sheet on all the vitamins and supplements I take and discovered that I take 125mgs of zinc a day...I think I have read in places that that is considered quite a high dose. So, I don't think it would help to add more. However, I have made a paste by crushing up a couple zinc tabs and mixing it with some turmeric and water. That seemed to help dry them up some (but it did stain my skin a beautiful mustard yellow!). >>When my 3 daughters were growing up they took a good quality multi along with extra zinc and it really helped keep their skin clear. I've also passed this along to other moms and they have reported back positive results.<< I have my 4 daughters taking a good multi that has extra zinc in it to help with their skin challenges (3 are teens with some not-so-good eating habits) and, so far, we haven't noticed much change. Hoping as time goes on that it will clear up their skin! Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post!
Guest guest
, I know that Vitamin World sells zinc for acne. I don't know if it will be powerful enough to help with boils or not. I know that I have a problem with acne because of my very oily skin. After starting iodine, though, it really cleared up. Are you taking any Vitamin C, like 4000 mg? I don't know if that would help or not. I know that I have to use Arbonne stuff for my face. Nothing else seems to work and everything makes me break out. I'm not trying to sell anything, but it might be worth checking into. Just a thought. K > > Hi Deb, > > >>The boils you mentioned sound very painful. Guest guest
H , >>I know that Vitamin World sells zinc for acne.<< Is it different than regular zinc? Formulated somehow specifically for acne? >>After starting iodine, though, it really cleared up.<< I have read that iodine can cause skin to get worse before it gets better...did that happen to you? Do you know if there is anything a person can do to lessen the chances of that happening? I would maybe like to start takin iodine...still a bit undecided, though, due to having Hashi's. >>Are you taking any Vitamin C, like 4000 mg?<< I looked at my spread sheet with my vitamin and supplement info and I am taking 2000mg...maybe I should try to increase that a bit. I just take SO MANY pills every day! Thanks for your sharing your input!
Guest guest
, Another suggestion is to be sure you are getting enough Vit A. Many multis just have the beta carotene and some people have trouble converting it to Vit A...have read this about people with thyroid problems. Guest guest
When I was growing up, my dad used to take a raw potato, slice it in half and scrape the potato pulp onto a small piece of cloth. Then he would tell us to put that on the boil and keep it there for as long as we could stand to. It would bring the boil to a head, and then it could be gently emptied, and then it would dry up and heal. I have done this many times as an adult. Now I have heard that it works because of the iodine in the raw potato. The pulp will turn an orangey color. It won't hurt to try it, but it won't do anything as far as prevention either...-- Warmest Regards,Robin Little>>>>The boils you mentioned sound very painful. << Thanks for mentioning this. Guest guest
, Yes, the zinc at Vitamin World is formulated for acne. I didn't have any problem with the iodine. I couldn't believe the difference. It gets rid of any bad bacteria in your body and other toxins. I take 4000 mg of Vitamin C and 250 mg magnesium. I know what you mean about supplements. I take 10 different supplements. That's the big joke at my house. I'm so full after taking my supplements that I can't eat. lol. I wish that were true!! I also take a multivitamin along with all my supplements. I also don't drink any carbonated drinks like soda. I know some of them conflict with the iodine. You can check into iodine info at www.iodine4health.com. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. ;-) > > H , > > >>I know that Vitamin World sells zinc for acne.<< > > Is it different than regular zinc?
