Guest guest
These repeated comments about the extremely foul taste of Lugol's has me a bit concerned. My Lugol's, sourced from J. Crows honestly does not taste very bad at all. Just a slight metallic taste. I usually start my day at 6am with a big tumbler of ice water and put Real Salt and Lugol's (5 drops morning, 5 drops evening) and I can only taste the salt....no suffering...no dreading, etc. I sip the water as I eat breakfast and get ready for work over an hour or so. Do I have a bad batch of Lugol's??? Does everyone here agree that Lugol's is that bad??? Guest guest
I've had 2 different bottles of Lugol's in the past 5 yrs. The first was too weak. the 2nd is full strength and while I know I'm drinking iodine, it really doesn't taste "bad". I have no problem drinking it at all. I've taken 6 drops in 1/4 cup of water. This might just be a matter of subjectivity as everyone has different "tastes". Some people enjoy 'sour', for instance, while others cannot tolerate that taste (me, for instance). Guest guest
I have trouble with the taste of Lugol's in water. I drink it in a little milk, and can't taste it at all. Does anyone know any reason not to do this?
Guest guest
Lugol's solution at the proper strength tastes really horrible., even diluted in a half glass of water. What percentage is your Lugol's solution? - Lynne In a message dated 11/8/2007 10:29:35 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, neilneil@... writes: Do I have a bad batch of Lugol's??? Guest guest
I wonder if an independent lab could test your Lugol's. Or maybe you could compare the taste of your Lugol's with somebody else's from another company. This is a reason I recommend Iodoral unless you are penniless. I took Lugol's for months before starting Iodoral. The first day taking Iodoral I felt different. Even tho the equivalent amounts of iodine are spelled out, Iodoral must be absorbed differently, lower down in the GI tract. Perhaps people on Lugol's can compensate my taking more-- I'm not suggesting this because it's an unknown. I've heard of several people taking 300 mg Lugol's but never heard of anybody taking more than 100 mg Iodoral. --Lynne In a message dated 11/9/2007 12:58:15 P.M. Guest guest
I put as much as 10 drops in juice (usually orange juice, 4 to 6 ounces). I chug it down in a short time and never taste the iodine at all. And there's never any metallic taste. I wouldn't think of trying to drink it in water.
