Guest guest
I concur, you are not a dork. And even though it is hard to believe at times, neither am I. Yes, you can definitely pass gallstones without doing anything. In fact, I would expect that it is a common occurrence. The problem arises when you are not able to. 80% of all gallstones are silent; in other words there are 4 times as many people with gallstones that never feel any discomfort than there are like people here on the group who are suffering. You may be one of the lucky ones though in that you are now forced to address the issue. The other health problems associated with the improper bile flow never get handled if you do not know there is a problem. In this 80% I am sure that many people end up passing stones after eating a quantity of lipids all the time. It is the same as discharging bile, it has just coagulated and formed. Waiting and hoping for them to pass unassisted is sticking your head in the sand. Outside of divine intervention I would put your chances very low. Educate yourself on your predicament, make decisions that are best for you, and enjoy every moment (during if possible, as well as after). The benefits of addressing the problem head on are many times as great as they may appear on the surface.
