Guest guest
Hi Dave I have had a health issue with overactive bowel (IBS) recently. It was very distressing, wanting to defecate (several times) about 1/2 hour after every meal, and feeling sick in the bowel when and just after I did. I wondered if it was due to the gallstone problem I had. I checked on the Net, and noticed there were two new discoveries as to the cause of IBS. These discoveries are: 1) IBS is due to proliferation of " bad " bacteria that migrate from the large bowel, where they usually live, into the small bowel where they are less welcome. 2) IBS is often due to gallstone disease. This was postulated by a certain Dr. Habba working in the US, therefore IBS with a history of gallstone disease is now apparently being renamed as " Habba's disease " . Remembering that harmful bacteria, stones and whatever is trapped in the gallbladder can perforate first the gallbladder wall, and then migrate into the bowel, I wondered if - by a logical combination of the above two discoveries - the root cause of IBS might be due to migration of pathogens, not secondarily from the large bowel, but primarily from the gallbladder. I had thought of ordering a 100% herbal combination over the Net " to improve bowel function " . I was expecting the treatment to last for months. In the meantime however, since I needed to try anything, I opted to take some more oregano capsules which I had left over from last year when I had serious gallbladder issues. I remembered that oregano is an awesome herbal disinfectant, and also that it is specifically for cleaning up the gallbladder. After taking only 3 capsules, I realized I had no more IBS issues and I am still free of it at this time. I can only surmise that this herb was able to neutralize the pathogens in the GB, allow the body to heal any perforations they might have made in the GB wall, and " plug the leak " . Thank God for herbs, and thank God for people like Dave who know their value and sefllessly share their knowledge, wisdom and intuition with those in need. I hope this information will be useful to others in a similar mess. Also, it is for sure that most people pass stones all the time without doing anything. Stones are only congealed bile, and if they can pass bile via the bile ducts, they can and surely do pass stones too via the same route. Guest guest
Hi max! Long time. Thank you for your kind words. With the new format I cannot insert to a previous message so I will respond to the post here kind of piece meal. I agree with both of the causes below as well as some others. Irritable bowel syndrome is just that... a syndrome. Modern medicine doesn't know what it is they just know what you told them when you came in. When enough people express the same symptoms, they make up a new name and poof!... a new " disease " is born. I think we way over simplify by figuring out the " one reason " . In your case it was obviously pathogenetic and the oregano oil was a perfect remedy. A lot cheaper, easier, safer, and less stress than upper GIs, lower GIs, steroids etc. Congratulations. Always keep in mind that bacterias are species specific and an " antibacterial " for one may have no effect on another. If you had no changes at all it would not have meant that oregano oil doesn't work or that it was not a bacterial cause, it might have been grapefruit seed extract, or goldenseal, or guduchi, or quassia, or something else. It is very very difficult for the bacteria and/or detritus to perforate the gallbladder wall, however the connection to the bowel is direct. The only stop gates are the sphincter at the gallbladder, and the illeoceccal valve between the small and large intestine. Neither of these is foolproof, especially if not functioning properly. I agree that you can continually reinfect the bowel from a gallbladder infection. For those of you following this, Max's story below is a prime example of where natural treatment is the best first option. I bet he doesn't have more than 20 bucks into the oregano oil and he was feeling better in a few hours. -Dave ----- Original Message ----- From: max<mailto:max@...> gallstones <mailto:gallstones > Sent: Thursday, August 03, 2006 10:41 AM Subject: IBS Hi Dave I have had a health issue with overactive bowel (IBS) recently.
