Hi there Sheila

I have found out he is not the chairman and not even on the board, he

appartenly did have something to do with prescriptions, but that was

sometime ago and is not being used anymore. I did contact the customer

services last week to find out what to do in the event of this

happening and have written them a letter as they asked for it. Here is

a copy hope you approve.

Please let me know if I should be saying anything else in this letter.

Dear Sir/Madam

Having spoken to a member of your staff on the 26th October 2007, they

advised me that I needed to write to you and give my consent for you

to investigate this matter for me.

I consent for you to investigate this matter for me.

After being quite ill for over a year with hypothyroidism and liver

and bowl problems I was referred to a Consultant, Dr. Bollas at the

Kent and Canterbury Hospital, he was quite worried about my liver and

was doing regular blood tests, I was feeling quite low and more often

than not in pain. Then I changed my medication from Thyroxine which I

was on for over 12 months to Armour Thyroid USP and a miracle

happened, I felt better than I had for a long time. I went for a blood

test after taking Armour for a few weeks and on my next appointment at

the hospital was shown that my blood test came back completely normal,

Dr. Bollas at the Kent and Canterbury hospital was so pleased he

prescribed me this drug and told me that he would tell my GP, Dr

Singh, of Northumberland Road, Maidstone, Kent, by letter or fax, that

he would like me to be prescribed this medication. All my symptoms are

relieved and now Dr. Singh tells me he cannot prescribe this

medication as it is not licensed, and it costs 20 times more than

thyroxine, but I am fully aware other GP's do prescribe this

medication to NHS patients, and that as a Consultant has recommended

it for me, he should also prescribe it for me. He also said he was the

Chairman of the committee who helped to decide these matters and that

even if I wrote to you it would basically not change anything. Dr

Singh said he is more than happy for me to take this drug but only if

somebody else prescribes it.

I look forward to your reply.

Yours sincerely

Mrs C Fullbrook
