Guest guest
Hi Jonny Start by taking one tablet with your breakfast for a couple of days. Then add another tablet with your lunch, but don't take any after 1.00p.m. because of the extra adrenalin and it might keep you awake. See how you feel after a couple of weeks and add another tablet if you feel you need it. you can take up to 6 tablets a day if you are in dire stress, but mainly, people get by OK with 2/3 or 4 tablets. You have to find your own dose. Yes, it is better to stop your thyroxine when starting your Nutri Adrenal Extra. This gives your adrenals a better chance to get boosted. The longer you can stop thyroxine the better chance your adrenals have. Luv - Sheila I just order some NAE today, should come monday I guess. Can't waitany longer for my endo to take ages doing nothing, so I'm gonna trythese out. After all, my salivary test shows I was low on DHEA, andthe cortisol was quite flat.Whats the best way to take it? You have to stop taking thyroxine for afew days, is that right?I also sent my endo the letter and documents about Amrour, hope when Isee him next week he'll let me try it.Jonny No virus found in this incoming message.Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Hi Jonny, I know that many people, including me, take higher levels than you've counted, particularly of vitamin C. (However fyi some sensitive people do react particularly to the B vitamins in cheap (or supermarket level, NOT Nutri) supplements. I think it's always worth paying for the best you can.) Guest guest
Hi , welcome to the forum, Im sure you will find lots of help here. I dont have any experience of taking adrenal support but Im sure you will get more replies with advice about this, so do check back tomorrow when there are more people around who can help. Gill Hi all, I'm new to this forum, but, not thyroid disease. I just wondered if anyone had tried Nutri adrenal extra?I had an adrenal saiva test done a month ago now, and it cameback a little low in the morning, however, I tried HC up to 7.5mgsand just ended up with a horrible migraine, which is what I always getwhen I mess about with my hormone levels.I also would like to know if the adrenals heal themselves as youincrease your thyroid meds, as my adrenals look to be in better shapenow than when I had my last test done in 2002, as I've increased mydose since then.I .. Guest guest
Hi , Well, sometimes the adrenals heal as the thyroid is properly supplemented, and sometimes they don't............ I've been on supplementation for 7 years and have now halved my dose for this past year. Since then I've had 7 lots of penicillin for tooth infections and 5 colds and none in the previous 6 years when I was on a higher adrenal dose. Others are luckier. Have you considered progesterone to help with the swerat? It will also help with absorption of thyroid meds see http://www.progesterone.co.uk ----- I also would like to know if the adrenals heal themselves as you increase your thyroid meds, as my adrenals look to be in better shape now than when I had my last test done in 2002, as I've increased my dose since then. I am going to increase my armour some more as I think I might still be undermedicated! and didn't want to stress my adrenals anymore. Also I have terrible hot sweats and have since I went hypo, although I went into menopause at the same time, and the sweats never left, and that was about 10 years ago! Thanks for any help you can give me. x Messages are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult with a suitably qualified practitioner before changing medication. Go to our FILES in thios forum website and scroll down until you see the document " How to use Armour Thyroid " . Read that thoroughly and it tells you there the best way to take your Armour and how to tell when you are on the correct dose. > > > Luv - Sheila > > I am going to increase my armour some more as I think I might still be > undermedicated! and didn't want to stress my adrenals anymore. > > Also I have terrible hot sweats and have since I went hypo, although > I went into menopause at the same time, and the sweats never left, and > that was about 10 years ago! > > Thanks for any help you can give me. > > x > > > Hi Sheila,I realised from reading the files that I might be undermedicated! My last increase was about 6 months ago, and I only increased by about 1/2 grain. These are my last results: 11/07/07 T3 4.1 (3.0-6.2) T4 13.2 (12.0-22.0) I don't bother with TSH as it always comes back quite supressed. Guest guest
HI S Then you definitely need to increase your Armour by another half grain. Stay on that for 3 to 4 weeks and if no adverse effects, like palpitations, sweating, going dizzy, feeling spaced out - then you can increase by yet another half grain. You are very undermedicated, and your blood results show this. When you are taking Armour, your Free T4 and Free T3 should be up near the top of the reference range. Guest guest
Hi everyone, i've been taking NAE for nearly three weeks after doing a adrenal stress index test on the advice of dr P. For about two weeks of the three weeks I've been taking it I have noticed slightly improved energy levels and blood sugar symptoms have improved slightly which is great but feel I'm flagging again now. Should I up the dosage (i'm taking 3 per day)? Or should I not expect any more improvement on the NAE alone and wait till thyroid treatment is started? I should mention I have started Nutri thyroid glandular (hormone free kind) on the advice of Dr P in the past week (3 every evening), would this have anything to do with loss of energy? I would ask Dr P but as he is a busy man and seeing him 7th June for the first time (don't feel like an official patient of his till I've paid him so don't want to bother him if I can help it). Thank you in advance for any comments, Ruth.
Guest guest
Hello Ruth It might be an idea to add another tablet to your daily dose so you are taking 4. This is usual. Most peoplke fiond it best to take 3 with breakfast and one with lunch, but you can split it evenly if you wish. On very stressful days (either emotionally or physically) you can add another tablet, and even go up to 6 daily quite safely. This should help you. However, Nutri Thyroid is only a thyroid supplement that helps boost your thyroid function, and you might now need to be starting on Armour Thyroid as this has all the thyroid hormones your body needs. Stick with taking the additional NAE for the moment as you are seeing Dr P so soon. Good luck, I know you will like him and that he will make you well again. luv - Sheila Hi everyone, i've been taking NAE for nearly three weeks after doing a adrenal stress index test on the advice of dr P. Guest guest
Thank you Sheila! Thank you for such a quick response! I'm about to take the NAX again but I hate that I'm feeling sensitive to begin with -- I guess I have no choice but to take it though. Have a great day. -------------------- > > > > Some people can feel a bit strange when they start taking adrenal > support, and I suppose this is because you are likely wakening up bits > and bobs in your body that needed waking. Guest guest
Hi, I have to say that the first couple of weeks on nax, I also had some mild twingy pain in the kidney/adrenal area, which settled down completely. I also put it down to adreanals being kicked started a bit. Three months later I really feel nax have played a key part in feeling better. Good luck. x
