I went to the doctor to make sure that I was not having a heart attack. She told me she thought it was a gallbladder attack and sent me to have an Ultra-sound and that if it turned out that I had stones I would need surgery. Well, " unofficially " I have the stones. I have not heard it from the doctor but I seen them and the tech told me " unofficially " that there are there. Well, I am SCARED TO DEATH of surgery and I am reading up on the different types of flushing. However, some of these stories have been awful. Have any of you just done nothing? If so how long has it been since you were diagnosed. I wish I would not have gone to the doctor now because I would not have all this added worry. Thanks for listening God Bless!!! Guest guest Posted July 25, 2006 Report Share Posted July 25, 2006 Surgery is not the first step in gallbladder problems. I know that my DR did not even advise surgery first. The first thing he did was do blood work to test my pancreas function as well as my liver. My pancreas was fine, and my liver enzymes were slightly elevated, no big deal. Another thing is by looking at the ultrasound they can tell if you have any problems, like infection possibly. I think it was the lining would be thicker or something? Sorry I can't remember. Although I had a lot of stones, I didn't have any other problems. I have been very successful in managing attacks with my diet. I would also cleanse. I have only done one cleanse. I cannot do it right now because of my hypoglycemia. Curezone.com has a lot of information on gallstones as well as a message board. There are also many helpful people on this list.
