Guest guest
Just out of curiosity, why did you go through Dr Fox's office to get Dr Rumbaut? Why not just book directly with Dr Rumbaut? Guest guest
Hi , I started going through Dr. Fox because that is what a friend did and it worked for her. I had heard that fills were cheaper if you went through Dr. Fox. Now I'm all confused about what to do. I have a time frame that I would really like to stick with so my husband can go with me. And it just fits with family activities. Now if it takes any longer it's going to be all messed up. If there really is a problem with my urine I want to know that too, but my family Dr. wasn't that concerned. He said we'd just keep an eye on it. Where do you do your fills? Guest guest
I get my fills done under fluoro for $250 at Tacoma Radiology. I had my surgery done within 3 weeks of calling Dr Rumbaut and for aftercare I manage everything myself - I read the band mailing lists, I talk to other people, so I know what to do and what not to do. I also see my PCP regularly and have bloodwork done every 3 months. It is actually cheaper by $500-$1000 to go directly through Dr Rumbaut. He took my medical history over the phone, and did my preop testing the day before surgery and everything went smoothly. I even stayed an extra night in the hospital at no extra charge. Feel free to email me privately if you want to talk about anything \ Dr Rumbaut June 5 2002 352/322/165 STILL waiting....=( Boo Hoo > > > > > > > I'm going to Dr. Rumbaut through Dr. Fox's office. Guest guest
I was the patient referred to Dr. Rumbaut to Dr. Fox. You do not need to take all those prephysical tests if you're going to Dr. Rumbaut. This is just the way for Dr. Fox to get some extra money. You need to go to Dr. Rumbaut's web site and get his phone number to call him directly for an appointment for your surgery. You can probably get a date within a couple of weeks and his fee includes your prephysical tests that can be done the day before your surgery you also end up saving a few thousand dollars by doing this instead of going to Dr. Fox's office for the referral to Dr. Rumbaut. Take care Eiler PS. If you need to call me for any more information give me a call at 425-252-6206 STILL waiting....=( Boo Hoo I'm going to Dr. Rumbaut through Dr. Fox's office. I'm still waiting for a date. It seems like it is taking forever. I had my pre-op tests in Mid-August. I had blood in my urine. My family Doctor said that it is just a trace of blood and it shouldn't keep me from having my surgery. I had my Physical at Dr. Fox's and it sounded like everything was a go. The nurse put the date I wanted on my chart. I called back today and they still want my 2nd " pee test " and my EKG needs to be interpreted. I was SO frustrated. Now I don't know when they'll get back to me. Any thoughts out there? Especially from Dr. Fox's patients. Thanks, Mindy
Guest guest
Thanks everyone. I called the nurse today. I'm in the process of moving so I have two message phones. I'm going to go check my answering machine and if I don't have a call. I'll be calling Dr. Rumbaut directly. I've already had the pre-op tests done so that's a done deal. I can't go back on that $1700 bill. I was worried about going down to Dr. Rumbaut and then not being able to have the surgery because the tests were not right. But, now that I've had them done I should call Dr. Rumbaut and see if he has a problem with blood in the urine. My PCP doesn't act like it's that big of deal. He's just going to watch it. Since I want my port placed on my left side I probably should have my fills done with Floura sp?. Thanks for getting back to me. I'll keep in touch. Hi Mindy- Glad you're going to contact Dr. Rumbaut directly. He's wonderful on the phone, and speaks excellent English. When I talked with him last month, he asked if I'd had any of the pre-op work done here in the states. When I said no, he said that was okay; that he'd just have me do it there. So it sounds like your $1700 investment may not go to waste. Just curious -- why do you want your port place on your left side? What brought you to that decision? I'm contemplating port-placement, too, and would appreciate any insights you could give me. Thanks! -Bev ..
Guest guest
Hi Bev, I chose to have the port placed on my left side after much researching. I felt is was the best position for me. I know other people love the sternum placing of their port. A good friend of mine has hers placed in her side and she wouldn't have it any other way. She has lost so much weight (size 4/5 after 3 years)that she thought that if is was on her sternum it would have really poked out. You can barely see it on her side. So, to make a long story short (too late, lol) I know a couple people who have a side port and it works great for them. No problems. So that is where I want mine.
