But I have a feeling that my gallstones are still there. The flush is certainly a lot more drastic. By the way, I was on this list a year or two ago. Anyone remember me? I was on no mail for a while and have just started reading again. My journey to health has been a long one, but I've been rowing for a year, been following Mercola and The Maker's Diet and have lost 35 pounds over the period of a year. But I'm thinking I need to do something more drastic, so I'm reading emails here again. I too am looking for some sort of flush that doesn't use olive oil. Guest guest
Congratulations on your weight loss Tina. I lost 60 pounds last year after experiencing my first 3 gallbladder attacks. I was doing so well with diet and exercise. Then since I wasn't having any pain I slacked off and I've gained back 35 pounds. I am now back on track due to hypoglycemia. I need to get healthy and stay healthy! I can't answer your question I just wanted to welcome you back. Guest guest
The orginal post that I posted to the website was asking a question " if anyone knew of something that could be used other than grapefruit juice, because I have problem with citrus fruit. " Several messages have come through using the title of my post, but they don't relate to it. I am confused. Guest guest
Don't take it too personally, Norma. Once a subject line is posted it tends to mutate into whatever the next person talks about and whatever the person after that picks out of that post, etc. This is generally a really good group for information, so stick with it. You asked about something other than citrus fruit. Well, the basic action of the citrus fruit is its acid... it helps get the gallstones ready to move. I'm not sure if it starts them dissolving or if it breaks the bonds holding them together, or what. But it works. So, you could try acidic things. You might drink apple cider vinegar instead of the citrus juice. You might try taking high doses of vitamin C (2,000 to 4,000mg to replace each " dose " of the juice) because it has the acid without the specific citric juices. Even Coca- Cola has plenty of acid and could presumably be used, but you certainly wouldn't feel like you were doing something to help your health! But whatever you do, don't forget about the Epsom salts, or at least magnesium supplements (with vitamin C to help them dissolve quickly), to help relax your bile ducts and make the stones pass easier -- and to clean out your bowels so the toxins from the gallbladder make it all the way out of your body. I hope this is helpful.
