Guest guest
Have you done anything different as far as lifestyle changes or eating habits? Are you taking any supplements such as Cholacol or Betaine HCL? I had mine removed mid-January. I was rushed back to the hospital the next week with what the Dr called a " touch " of pancreatitis (worst pain of my life---worse than GB attacks) and had to have an ERCP performed. That said, I am glad to have been rid of it---I will not miss it. I recovered fine from both procedures but no matter what I eat, I feel like I am always suffering from a sour stomach feeling. It's not severe, nor does is create any interruption in my daily life. I am pretty much back to my old self. Everything I put in my mouth with the exception of water is with hesitation. However I was like that with gallbladder disease so this isn't much different. I am researching a healthier diet, maybe some supplements. Any ideas? Kim in TX. Guest guest
Hello Kim, I am not in your position to have the GB taken out, but this period of time up to the first flush I read a lot about all these problems and I have two cases in my family with such problems. You saw practically a scheme where GB is positioned in comparation with the pancreas and the duodenum. Our liver send the billiary liquid more or less at the same debit through the biliary ducts. The main GB role is to function as an urgency tank with biliary liquid. In case the person in cause eat something more difficult for digestion (like fish eggs, mayoness etc), our GB send a bigger quantity of bile liquid for that digestion. After removal of the GB, the person in cause remains without the urgency tank of billiary liquid. So that each time you eat very greasy or 'hard' things, the liver alone has not enough capacity to send more billiary liquid for helping that digestion. In such cases you need to take some supplements for digestion like for instance DIGENZIME or similar. All the rest of your life to have to take care of what you eat and how much once.
