going for a fill

Well, I am leaving in 30 minutes for the 2 hour drive to my surgeon.

I wasn't supposed to go until March, but he thinks I need a fill. I

don't know. I am going to go with his experience. He had me fill out

a survey last week and from the results, he says fill. I was too

tight here before the last time, so they took out 1/4th of a cc. I

am sure I was too tight, but I also think it is chewing and speed of

eating. I am doing much better with that. Still can't eat pork

though. No way, no how.

Don't worry about it. Pork is of ZERO importance.

Below is the questionnaire. Nothing fancy. Except for weight, all of

the answers could only be yes or no. I told him today that it is too

inflexible only dealing with yes/no and basically always/never.

The fill went well. Back up to 4.5 which is what I had before. I lost

1#, but hey, it is better than a gain.

- THANK YOU SO MUCH for this.. it was awesome to have it written

down..and I was busted on the soft foods :)

I'd been keeping a food diary as we were encouraged to do at the last

support meeting I went to and all of a sudden, I'm losing weight

again. I am excited about weight loss again! :D

Blessings - enjoy your day

's list is very good! but I don't think we need to be nearly this

strict. There are some exceptions.

Please see my published Guide in the files here, called " Fills - When

do i need another? "

We need, women especially, 1-2 glasses a day of nonfat milk, for the

calcium.

the soy pastas are excellent - full of fiber and protein, and with a

chunky meat sauce, make an excellent band meal. Wild rice is also

good - so we can have rice. It's the white, stucky stuff that is off

limits.

we need MUCH more water than 6-8 glasses. bandstres need at leat 80-

100 oz a day - please see the dicument called " Water " in the files

for much more information.

Our loss will often stall, as the body rests and compacts. Only if we

have not lost for at leaast 3-4 weeks in a row, should we even start

to tghink about more fill - and then, as says, only aftr re-

evaluating all the above things. We asre never trying to lose as fast

as possible, but slowly and in a halthy way - that is tyhe only way

the weight will not copme back yet again.

See the Band guide here for much more on eating and food choices, and

the meal plan ideas here. Lots of otherr good guides there too, i

hope.

Hi, robin - welcome!

It's true that breakfast is the most impt meal of the day, especially

for those trying to lose weight safely.

25 gm of daily fiber is very impt, and it is very hard to get this

without starting the day with a good fiber cereal. Kashi Go Lean is

good - both fiber and protein - but i love the new Fiber One " honey cu

clusters " - about 1/3 of the daily fiber needs right there, and

tastes great. moisten with nonfat milk, add some berries, and it is

an ideal breakfast.

we emphasize protein far too much, and that is from old bypass docs.

It's quite easy to get the 50-60 gm of daily protein women need (60-

70 for men), but far harder to get the fiber. supplements should be a

last resort, as they sabotage good weight loss.

there is lots of good info in the files here, on food isues and much

more.

Welcome again !
