Guest guest
Hi, " RC " - Neither the Band nor the port is in the abdomenal cavity, where the fluid is, so I can't see a connection. But certainly have your doc consult with your band surgeon on ANYthing that could even possibly be related to the band. This fluid is called ASCITES and is a SYMPTOM, rather than a specific illness. There are many, many possible causes of ascites. I'm sure Your docs will continue their detective work to find out what is causing the ascites, then they will know how to treat the problem causing it. Good luck with this - Sandy R > > I don't know that this has anything to do with my band. However, I > have been suffering severe joint pain and muscle cramps. Guest guest
I can't say I have experience with band reaction but I do have abdominal fluid from a reaction to netting placed over a hernia. I've had fluid removed on two occasions but it always comes back and is quite painful. It's been 2 1/2 years since that op. Many say it will go eventually. Because I'm still 250lb it's not obvious to anyone that the fluid is there. Maybe when I lose weight it will be an obvious lump. My doc told me about a woman who didn't even know she had abdominal fluid until she lost her weight. Anyway, good luck in getting it all checked out.
