Guest guest
Hi Irene, Don't you just love those Learning Experiences? It seems like you learned what you needed to from being too tight, and are probably now on a good track but I wanted to suggest an easy and tasty alternative to the ice cream. (Think of it as retraining the inner fat girl). I make " ice cream " in my food processor from frozen fruit (about 1/2 C), 1 scant teaspoon sugar, and a couple of slugs of 1% milk. I add more milk as the processor is running until it's the consistency I want. It's yummy, and low calorie and it's the perfect thing when my band needs cold to soothe it rather than warm tea. I've made it with berries, frozen melon cubes, and peaches and all were good. Just don't use big chunks of fruit, the processor can't chop them up well enough. And in the summertime, it's a tasty treat anytime and fairly guilt free! Guest guest
Hi Lidia, I haven't done it in the blender altho I started doing it with the separate small food processor attachment for our blender. They don't make that attachment anymore altho you can see what I'm talking about at this link: http://www.cooking.com/products/shprodde.asp?SKU=130948 I have frozen it and it gets very hard so I just freeze the fruit, chopped into small pieces, or bought unsugared and already frozen in the case of berries, and make it as I want it. It takes less time than making a latte or a smoothie and I get ice cream as a result!
